ck one color global make up artist, Hung Vanngo, created a beautiful and romantic look on actress Rose Byrne as she presented at the 2013 SAG Awards, in Los Angeles.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - ArrivalsBeauty Inspiration:
“When creating actress Rose Byrne’s makeup for the SAG Awards we wanted to complement the dress she was wearing with a soft romantic smoky eye in pastel shades. Then a bright pink lip added a pop of color to complete a beautiful and modern look.” Hung Vanngo, ck one global makeup artist

FOUNDATION: ck one 3-in-1 face makeup in sand 300
BASE: ck one skin illuminator in warm
POWDER: ck one airlight pressed powder in fair 200
CONCEALER: ck one mousse concealer in fair 200
BROW: ck one brow pencil + gel duo in wily brunette 300
MASCARA: ck one mascara in show 800
BLUSH: ck one cream + powder blush duo in posh 300
LIPS: ck one pure color lipstick in wow 110
EYE SHADOWS: ck one powder eyeshadow quad in angel 800 & disco 200
EYELINER: ck one double-ended eyeliner in tender/vicious 100

Get the Look:
“First I prepped Rose’s skin with face moisturize and eye cream, then I used a foundation brush to apply the ck one 3-in-1 face makeup (sand) with few drops of the ck one skin illuminator (warm). After that, I added a touch of the ck one mousse concealer (fair) underneath the eyes and around the nose.

For the eyes, I applied the ck one double-ended eyeliner (tender/vicious) using the brown shade to line the upper outer corner of the lash line. I then used the pink shade for the upper inner corner and lower lash line blending them really well so it didn’t look like Rose was wearing eyeliner. After that I applied the ck one powder eyeshadow quad’s (angel and disco). I used the lavender color in the disco quad mainly on the upper corner of the eyelids, and soft pink color in the angel quad on the rest of eyelid, blending the shades together. Finally, I swept two coats of the ck one mascara (show) on upper lashes and one coat in the lower lashes.

I used ck one cream + blush duo(posh) on her cheekbones and little bit on the temples, using the cream blush first then setting it with the powder blush. To highlight and add dimension I applied the ck one skin illuminator (warm) on top of the cheekbones, nose and forehead. To shape Rose’s brows, I just extended and filled them in a little with ck one brow pencil + gel duo (wily brunette). For a pop of color we used the ck one pure color lipstick (wow), a stunning bright pink shade, I skipped using lip liner so the lips looked soft on the edges. Finally, I used ck one airlight pressed powder (fair) on Rose’s t-zone to set her makeup.” Hung Vanngo, ck one color global makeup artist.

ck one global makeup artist: Hung Vanngo
“AnnaSophia Robb likes low maintenance, minimal makeup but wanted to look polished and cool for her appearances. She likes a pop of color in her look, but doesn’t want it to be too heavy. We created two different looks for AnnaSophia, keeping the eyes the same, but changing the lip color for a bold statement”.

Actress AnnaSophia Robb:

  • “I love the ck one color 3 in 1 face make up – its so light, like I’m wearing nothing at all!”
  • “I like to layer my mascara for a dramatic look so I use the ck one color mascara. It has an adjustable wand that makes it really easy to apply”
  • “I love that ck one has make up now. I like a natural look with a pop of color”
  • “Hung Vanngo, ck one color make up artist, is so fun and talented. Having him around makes working a lot more fun!”

asr2Hung’s step-by-step guide:

  • I began by prepping the skin with a moisturizer and eye cream
  • I first applied the ck one 3-in-1 face makeup SPF 8 in ‘porcelain,’ applying it very lightly to the skin
  • I then used the ck one mousse concealerin ‘porcelain,’ to even out any blemishes
  • Anna Sophia has very full brows, so I used the ck one brow pencil + gel duo in ‘clever blonde’ to lightly fill in and enhance certain spots where needed
  • For the eyes, I used the ck one powder eyeshadow quad in ‘heat,’ using the greenish shade within the palette. I applied the eyeshadow all over the eye starting from the crease, as well as a bit underneath the eye as well
  • I then applied 2 coats of the ck one mascara in ‘show’ on the upper and lower lashes
  • For the cheeks, I used the ck one cream + powder blush duo in ‘breath’ on the cheekbones, starting with the cream, and then using the powder to set
  • I then used the ck one skin illuminatorin ‘cool,’ applying it to cheekbones, temples, a little on the lips and the nose
  • We created three different looks for Anna Sophia, keeping the eyes the same for all, but changing the lip color
  • For the first look, we used ck one pure color lipstick in ‘sin city’
  • For the second look, we used ck one pure color lipstick in ‘dollface’
  • And for the third look, we used ck one pure color lipstick in ‘little liar’
  • Each look was finished with a light dusting of the ck one airlight pressed powder SPF 8 in ‘porcelain’

Makeup Wars – Favorite Fall Look featuring Calvin Klein CK One Color Cosmetics Swatches, Review & FOTD

Last month, the divas of Makeup Wars showed off their best red lip.  This time we’re going full out with a full face!  Makeup Ways – Favorite Fall Look.

Rather than go towards what is super hot this season (vampy lip, FTW!) I’m headed for something a little more whimsical and daytime ready.  The shades of the items I’ll be using in this post might scream Spring more than Fall, BUT, I’m going to show you how you work it for Fall, and introduce you to a new product line all at the same time!

CK One Color Cosmetics are relatively new as of a few months ago.  The line range is decent and I’m excited to have five of the products here to share with you and use in this new look for Makeup Wars!

The first items are for the face.

Above we have the CK One 3-in-1 Face Makeup with SPF 8 Sunscreen ($30).  While SPF 8 isn’t a lot of sun protection, it’s something to add on to your regular SPF, and I love a product that is conscious enough to include some SPF in it.  The shade I’m using is 300 Sand.

Next to the 3-in-1 is the CK One Skin Illuminator ($20).  This is a great product to use in the Summer months to mix with the foundation for brightening your all over face and decolletage area.  For this Fall look, I just took a small dab, pressed my two pointer fingers together and dabbed lightly on the apples of my cheeks, blending up on the top part of the cheek bone.

Next, for face, is the CK One Cream + Powder Bronzer Duo ($25).

The powder side isn’t super pigmented, but when it’s blended over the creamy bronzer side and the illuminator it really makes the face shine.  It comes with a round powder sponge, but I don’t really like that for application of a product like this.  I used my fingers to apply and blend the bronzer through the hollows of the cheeks and used a blush brush to put the blush side on the apples of the cheeks and blending up.

(L-R: Blush/Bronzer Duo, Illuminator, 3-in-1)

Next the eyes/lip:

The CK One Powder Eyeshadow Quad in 800 Angel ($28) is likely not a quad of colors you’d expect to see together, but somehow, it works.

The shades aren’t pigmented, but are sheer and blendable with each other.  Surprisingly, the best pigment came from the seafoam green shade at the top left.  I experienced quite a bit of fall out from the blue shade and the icy white shade, so be sure to apply your eye makeup before your face makeup.

The CK One Double Ended Eye Liner Crayon in 200 Candy + Poison ($17) had me puzzled.

One side is a gorgeous deep purple, obviously an eye liner… but the other side is a frosty bright coral shade… looking to me more like a Lip Liner.  So that is how I used it.  The purple on the eye, the coral on the lip.  Whether that is right or not, it worked.  You can also up the intensity of the eye shadow quad by using the pencil colors as a base.  The pencils are super creamy and glide on easily!

For this FOTD I used:

CK Color One Cosmetics are available exclusively at Ulta beginning in April 2012.
