Butter London Poole, Sunbaker and Bit Faker Nail Polish Swatches & Review – Summer Holiday Collection 2013

Press SampleAffiliate Links

Six new shades of nail lacquer are released from Butter London in the 2013 Summer Holiday Collection – Bit Faker, Sunbaker, Champers, Poole, Marbs and Bobby Dazzler.  I have three to share with you today – Poole, Sunbaker and Bit Faker – and more on my wish list!

IMG_2064Poole

IMG_3421Poole is a lovely blue cream, reminding me of a robin’s egg meets Tiffany blue.  The formula was quite nice and I only needed two coats for full and even opacity.

Sun Baker

IMG_3444Sunbaker is a brassy metallic orange with flashes of gold, making the polish glow in the light.  This polish painted on so nicely and was fully opaque in two coats.

Bit Faker

IMG_3462Bit Faker is a true full coverage glitter with shades of copper, bronze, rose gold, gold and silver.  It’s insane how gorgeous this is.  There are no words, just look at it.  It’s a top coat sucker, so be warned it has a bit of a gritty feel.  Only two coats were needed for full opacity.

These are clearly all must haves, though you may have something similar to Poole in your stash.  My fave is Bit Faker… the dimension is just so beautiful!  As for my wish list, I absolutely must get my hands on Champers!

Butter London Nail Lacquer retails for $15 and is available for purchase at Nordstrom, Ulta and butterlondon.com.

Butter London JASPER, TEA & TOAST Nail Polish Swatches and Review – Spring 2013

Press SampleAffiliate Links

Butter London has a lot of polishes releasing for Spring 2013 and I’m excited to share two of them today – Jasper and Tea & Toast.

IMG_9650Jasper

IMG_9633Jasper is a pastel, daffodil yellow cream.  The pigment was lovely and I didn’t have a whole lot of issue with even application.  Two coats of polish were used in the photo.  From the Sweetie Shop Collection.  As used at Louise Gray, London Fashion Week A/W 13.

Tea & Toast

IMG_9636Tea & Toast is a tan latte cream. This brown shade coats well but some may find that it doesn’t work so well with their skin tone.  If it works for you, it’s definitely one you need, as the shade and formula are truly beautiful.  Two coats of polish were used in the photo.  From the Starkers Collection.  As seen at La Perla, New York Fashion Week A/W 13.

What are some of your favorite Butter London Spring 2013 Nail Lacquers?

Butter London Nail Polish retails for $15.00 and is available at Nordstrom, Ulta and Sephora as well as online at beauty.com and butterlondon.com.

Butter London SCUPPERED, JACK THE LAD Nail Polish Swatches & Review – Holiday 2012

Affiliate Links

Whoopsie!  Super late with these two shades from Butter London! I picked them up during one of the buy one get one sales at Ulta awhile ago and just found them at the bottom of my swatch basket.  I have still seen them locally and online, so I figured it’s worth it to show em off a bit, since they’re gorgeous and absolutely drool-worthy!

For Holiday 2012 Butter London released six glitter-ific polishes, two of which I have here to share with you!  And, judging from the other swatches I’ve finally looked at, I’m going to need more!

IMG_9101Scuppered

IMG_9039 IMG_9056Scuppered is has a copper base and is loaded with gold and fuchsia shimmer, as well as larger green glitter flakes.  It’s really a gorgeous shade and the green flakes are what make it unique.  The formula was a little thin, leaving the base color on the sheer side, so I used three coats for full opacity.

Jack the Lad

IMG_9069 IMG_9078Jack the Lad has a deep forest green base with blue, green and gold shimmer, giving it a mossy effect.  This formula was a little thin on this shade as well, so I did three coats for full opacity.

Did you pick up any of the Butter London Holiday 2012 polishes?  Which ones are your faves?

Butter London Nail Lacquer retails for $15.00 and they are available at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s, Nordstrom and butterlondon.com.

The Look: Katie created a half moon manicure using butter LONDON’s Nail Lacquer in Tea with the Queen and La Moss

Rachel Roy_butter LONDON_Image 1“I love the half-moon manicure we created for Rachel as it not only embodies the elements that inspired her Fall ’13 Collection, but also those that define it. We chose to use nail enhancements to ensure the nails were elegantly shaped and made a statement, and opted for a combination of a rich oxblood jewel tone (butter LONDON’s La Moss Nail Lacquer) with a lighter shade (butter LONDON’s Tea with the Queen Nail Lacquer) to create dimension between light and dark just as Rachel has done in the collection. The nail look is opulent, exotic and modern, but still quite classic.”

Butter London DODGY BARNETT, TRUSTAFARIAN, SHAG Nail Polish Swatches & Review – Fall/Winter 2012

Butter London always knows how to get us drooling and smiling all at once.  The fun names make us smile, while the stunning shades make us drool.  The collection releasing for the Fall/Winter 2012 season brings out HOLOS and other jaw dropping hues that are quintessential Butter London.

I have three of the new shades to share with you in Dodgy Barnett, Trustafarian, and Shag (The name Shag reminds me of the movie from back in the day, but it meant dance… not knockin’ boots lol)

Dodgy Barnett

(taken in direct sun, no flash)

(blurry to show pretties)

Dodgy Barnett is a silver holo and in the sun the effect is really strong.  It painted on flawlessly and was so smooth.  The holo melts to your nails like butter and shimmers like diamond dust.  The formula is on the thin side, so three coats were needed for full opacity.

And, because I’m fun, I saturated the snozberries out of this pic and thought the holo looked fun… so I share because I’m nice like that.

Trustafarian

(taken in direct sun, no flash)

(blurry to show the pretties)

Trustafarian is a seafoam green holo.  The effect isn’t as strong as Dodgy Barnett, even in the sun, but it’s definitely in it’s own class of beauty.  The formula is very thin, but was nearly opaque in three coats (shown above).

Shag

(taken outside, overcast, with flash)

Shag is a metallic burnt burgundy with subtle flecks of gold.  It’s really quite stunning and the shade I think of when I think of Autumn, because of the changing leaves and a fiery evening sunset.  The formula was easy to work with and was opaque in two coats.

You may have similar holos, but if not then all three of these shades are must haves.  The formula is amazing and easy to work with.

For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.

Butter London Nail Lacquer retails for $14.00 and is available at Ulta, Nordstrom, and butterlondon.com.
