I haven’t purchased a Burberry Complete Eye Palette in over a year! Insanity, because I loved Dark Spice so much and I totally had more on my wishlist. I guess none really and truly hooked me until now, when Burberry Beauty launched their Spring 2014 line and Sage Green entered into my life.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette Swatches Review EOTDWhat Nordstrom says about the Burberry Complete Eye Palette:

Designed for effortless application, each Burberry Beauty Complete Eye Palette contains an illuminating base, two blendable shades to add structure and a liner to define and enrich.

The lightweight, natural formula allows you to create a customizable smoky finish, while the spectrum of textures blended with silicones provide smooth glide and easy application. Micronized pigments impart long-lasting, vibrant color in a color-true finish.

Comes in a convenient velvet pouch with three applicators to help you create a multitude of looks.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette boxI love how the black velvet pouch that holds the eye palette features the classic Burberry pattern and folds over to keep the contents clean and protected.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette pouchAs you open the pouch you’re greeted with a small peek of the silver palette inside (which also carries the classic Burberry pattern embossed on it) and three small applicators are tucked into a pocket. As with almost all palettes I’m not super crazy about the applicators for use, but in a pinch they’ll work and I do like the presentation of them.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette pouch openThe back of the palette is more silver toned than what this picture shows. As you’ll notice it just states the name and some stats.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette backInside the palette is a full mirror and four shades of shadow arranged diagonally and, again, embossed with the classic Burberry check pattern.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette Review SwatchesSage Green is a quartet of shades that include a shimmering ivory, a shimmering taupe, a satin sage green and a shimmering kelly green. Can a green palette be neutral? If so this is right on the mark.

The shades aren’t incredibly intense but do provide enough color for an understated but fun look. While applying I found that using a firm brush and patting the color on provided more color and a better finish than just sweeping the shades on. They look more shimmery in the swatches than they do on the eye, which I think most Burberry fans will like.

The formula and quality are top notch as these shades are soft and smooth as well as very easy to apply and blend. I was pleased to see that these shades stayed true to color and lasted all day on the eye.

Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Shadow Palette SwatchesFor the EOTD look below I began with a thin layer of UDPP (mostly because now I use the Anti-Aging one) and then applied MAC Utterly Becoming Pro Longwear Paint Pot to the lids and through the crease. Using Sage Green I put the ivory shade at the inner corners of the eye and also under the brow for highlighting. The sage green shade is all over the lid and the taupe shade is blended just above the crease. I placed the kelly green shade at the outer corners of the eye and lightly under the lower lash line. Taking a fresh and soft eyeshadow brush I blended the edges of the taupe shade up and to the ivory shade to make the look more seamless. The eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Hustle and the mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara (to be reviewed).

*affiliate link-see below for info

Burberry lipsticks have become quite the obsession for me.  They’re so soft and lovely, I just can’t seem to get enough of them.  On my travels around the interwebs as I read my favorite beauty blogs… the shade Cameo Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick came up quite a bit.  The more I saw it, the more in love I became with it.  Of course, it had to be mine #TeamEnable.

IMG_8693What the Nordstrom website says about Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick:

Discover supple and light colors that reflect the natural lip tones. Formulas are hydrating and give a full lip in tone, coverage and color fidelity.

Formula: Super-light ‘second skin’ texture provides intense moisture immediately after application. Combination of oils and light waxes helps easy application and extreme comfort.

Benefits: Pigments dispersed in a clear gelled structure ensure high color fidelity. Shiny polymers offer perfect luminosity. Balanced color palette from nude trench tones to Burberry reds.

Protection: Contains anti-aging ceramides for fuller lips. Guarantees continuous hydration. Contains UV filters to protect from damaging environmental exposure.

How to use: Apply like a normal lipstick or apply to your finger and push into the lip to give a more natural color. To enlarge the mouth, use a lighter lipstick in the middle of the mouth. To reduce the mouth, choose a darker shade.

IMG_8697 IMG_8699 IMG_8817IMG_8801Cameo is that perfectly glowy peachy pink shade that you can wear every single day.  It has a slight shine to it, but still remains creamy.. making lips appear full and luscious.  As a lighter shade, the wear is just that of a normal lipstick (a few hours), but is easy to reapply.  It feels luxurious when applying and will provide any look with the perfect finishing touch!

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick retails for $30.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry DARK SPICE Complete Eye Palette Swatches, Review and EOTD

It’s safe to say that I’ve been more than a little obsessed with Burberry lately.  Don’t ask questions, just go with it.

In late 2012 Burberry Beauty released seven quads and called them the Complete Eye Palette.  It was hard for me to choose, but in the end I settled on one I knew I’d love – No. 05 Dark Spice.

This Complete Eye Palette comes with four shadows (a gold, chocolate, bronze and black) in a soft velvet pouch and three small applicators.

001What the Nordstrom website has to say about the Burberry Complete Eye Palette:

Designed for effortless application, each Burberry Beauty Complete Eye Palette contains an illuminating base, two blendable shades to add structure and a liner to define and enrich.

The lightweight, natural formula allows you to create a customizable smoky finish, while the spectrum of textures blended with silicones provide smooth glide and easy application. Micronized pigments impart long-lasting, vibrant color in a color-true finish.

Comes in a convenient velvet pouch with three applicators to help you create a multitude of looks.

002 003103004   005006007In Dark Spice the pigment is intense on all of the shades.  This is my first experience with Burberry eye shadow and I really found that the quality was fabulous.  The shadows blended well and made for a seriously smoky chocolate eye.  Think Jennifer Love Hewitt in the Ghost Whisperer type of eye.  Hot.

Dark Spice leans incredibly warm, so keep that in mind before ordering.

For the EOTD I went a bit more dramatic and started off with the bronze shade all over the lid, the chocolate shade in the crease and the black in the outer V.  I used the golden shade above the chocolate to blend out the crease, but I felt like it made the look a bit sallow.  The liner is MAC Orpheus Kohl Power and the mascara is Chanel Le Volume.

I think for more normal wear I would put the golden shade on the lid and then work the bronze, chocolate and black in with it that way.  Maybe with the black as a liner!

008Have you tried any of these out yet?  Which did you purchase or which one are you lemming?  No. 06 Plum Pink is definitely next on my list!

The Burberry Complete Eye Palette retails for $59.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry Haymarket Check Folding Wristlet Photos & Review

My inaugural Burberry handbag purchase!  I’ve been eying Burberry for a long time… mostly the huge bags that would make DH laugh if I was all “I want to buy that”.  Plus, I have a lot of huge bags.  I’ve been surfing around looking for something that was portable, easy and would carry just enough.  In November, when my birthday arrived, I found it.  The Burberry Haymarket Check Folding Wristlet.

005 006 045 047 051 (2) 055This wristlet is awesome because it can also be used as a clutch and it folds over.  When it’s opened there are two separate compartments to keep all of your essentials organized.  The ONLY thing I’d change about this is that I feel like it needs a longer strap for cross-body wear.  Even though it’s got the wrist strap, sometimes it’s nice to be *totally* hands-free!

Of course, it’s no longer on the website at Neiman Marcus, but if you’re wanting to purchase you can do so on the Burberry website.

Makeup Wars ~ My Holiday Beauty Wish List

The Makeup Wars Bloggers decided it would be a smart move to do up our Holiday wish lists.  Basically, if any family or friends are reading this and want to tell Santa so I have a little surprise under the tree… you won’t hear me complain.  I might even have a smooch waiting under the mistletoe for anyone thinking of me!

I thought it would be a good idea to pick some “wants” at several price points… just in case my hubby or someone else who loves me equally as much is checking this out!  Keeping it tame, this is just beauty items.  If I would have dove into handbag, shoes, jewelry… well, we’d have been here all day.
