Happy Fourth of July (to those celebrating)! Since it's a BBQ/hang outside in the sweltering heat type of day I thought it'd be a good idea to share a hot new palette for Summer - the Smashbox Heat Wave Eye Shadow Palette.

I don't blog a whole lot of Smashbox, but this was introduced to me by a friend that had bought it and it was just an instant love at first swatch for me.

What Sephora says about the Smashbox Heat Wave Eye Shadow Palette:

What it is:
A stunning 10-shade summer palette with brush.

What it does:
Turn up the drama or keep it low-key: this beautiful palette offers 10 on-trend shades in a luxe wet-dry formula to create everything from naturally pretty eyes to amped-up glam looks.

This set contains:
- 10 x 0.059 oz Eye Shadow
- Double-Ended Eye Shadow Brush

What else you need to know:
Don’t forget to scan the QR code or peel back the label to get the look!

The Heat Wave Eye Shadow Palette contains 10 colors, a row of cool and a row of warm. I can't even pick a favorite row since they each represent a world of different looks. All of the shades are soft, easily blendable and have that perfect amount of pigment (which can be deepened by applying the shadows with a slightly damp brush).

The packaging is a hefty plastic with a muted gold tone. On the back you can peel the label to the side for "get the look" break down. The interior features a huge mirror and a dual-sided brush that is actually pretty awesome (normally I'm very anti-brushes that are included in palettes).

I did two EOTD's using each row of shadows. The first look is the "cool" look and the second look is the "warm" look. Both looks feature MAC Plushlash Mascara and Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Hustle.

The Smashbox Heat Wave Eye Shadow Palette retails for $48.00 and you can find it at Sephora, Nordstrom and Ulta.
