Revlon Lip Butters burst onto the beauty scene in the later months of 2011. Since then, they've become one of the most talked about drugstore makeup items of the year.

It was hard to choose just two shades to initially try out, but I narrowed it down to Strawberry Shortcake and Candy Apple.

Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake is a bubblegum pink. Even if you normally couldn't pull off this shade, or are timid to try it, the sheer (but not TOO sheer) pigment makes it a little easier to handle for a test drive.

Candy Apple

Candy Apple is a sheer maraschino cherry red. I love this one, it just looks so succulent! This makes me think of the rival dance squad on the show Dance Moms (which, incidentally, is filmed about 20 minutes from my house). Anyway, the girls compete against a squad called the Candy Apples lol they should all wear this shade ;)

The formula on the Revlon Lip Butters is wonderful. Smooth and moisturizing, this is a lipstick that even all you high-end honeys will love (they actually remind me of the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine). The shades are perfectly pigmented and come in a variety of colors (I believe 21) to suit anyone's fancy.

The only thing I dislike is that the Lip Butters are pretty wide, so it's hard to keep on the lips without some of it getting out of place. And my lips are basically in the middle, size wise. Not real thick, and not real thin. Other than that, I love everything about them.

Revlon Lip Butters retail around $7-$8 each, give or take drugstore pricing, sales... whatnot... have you tried these? What do you think? Up next on my must have list are Tutti Fruitti and Creamsicle.
