No one tells you that when you hit your thirties time flies..and I hate to say literally... but LITERALLY. With having a family, working and all of the random activities we have going on right now I couldn't even tell you where the last few years actually went. However, I do know we had a blast! Because the family unit is so busy I get very little "me" time for going out with my friends. You figure I'm busy with my family, they're busy with what they have going on... so when we can coordinate a little girly adventure I like to take some time for pampering beforehand. It sounds silly, but when I take some extra time with myself I feel more confident and relaxed while I'm out.
For me, pampering begins in the shower. Lately I've been using St. Ives® products which are made with 100% natural ingredients, paraben free, hypoallergenic and dermatologist tested. To start off I like to use a yummy smelling scrub. My skin can border on sensitive so I don't use a scrub often, maybe once a week in the warmer months. I'm loving the St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub because it smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling smooth.
Next I indulge in another step and grab a soothing body was that doesn't make my skin react, which, lately, has been the St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Wash. This is amazing because my skin feels smooth and I can get a good lather with it. I don't know if you like lather, but I love a lot of it so I tend to really over-use on my puff! The scent is also light but coordinates well with the Apricot Scrub.
When I feel amazing getting out of the shower I'm more relaxed and fun when I do my hair and makeup which just sets the tone for the entire rest of the day and evening. How do you prep?
