Well, I'm scatterbrained and forgot to cancel my Birchbox subscription last month. I can't say I regret it, but I also wouldn't have regretted cancelling, either. The theme of the October Birchbox is Beauty Buzz – focusing on the products people just can't seem to stop talking about.

As you open the box the card resting on top gives you a little explanation and greeting on one side and a run down of what is in your box on the other side.

Let’s see what’s going on for October!

From Atelier Cologne, Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolue. This is a small vial of perfume that you're to splash on your pulse points for everyday wear. You can definitely smell the oranges and this scent is totally yummy. I wouldn't exactly call it a Fall scent, more early Summer for me, but it's fragrant and lovely.

From dr. brandt, Microdemabrasion Skin Exfoliant. You're to use this 1-2 times a week to achieve a glowing complexion. This product is pretty nice and my skin felt softer after use. I can't say anything to long term effects, since it's a sample, but it's not enough to make me leave my HG Kate Somerville ExfoliKate.

From Supergoop!, City Sunscreen Serum. This is an anti-aging serum with SPF 30. I love that this was included with the Birchbox this month because it's a reminder that we should be wearing sunscreen year round, not just in the Summer! It can be worn alone or as a primer under makeup. This is a great product because it's got no fragrance and isn't heavy or oily. Birchbox gripe - the tube might look like a decent size, but there was hardly anything in the tube. I was lucky to get a small dab of it out to at least try it. I certainly wouldn't mind a full size based off of that, but I have no idea if I'll break out from it so I hesitate to actually purchase it.

From POP Beauty, Aqua Lacquer. I received the shade Flowering Fuchsia. This is a great sheer pink for those of us that want to wear color but are scared of anything too bold. It provides the perfect tint and adds shine and fullness. It has a plastic paddle applicator, which I'm not a huge fan of, but it's better than a brush, IMO.

Birchbox Find - This month there was a surprise, a "mass-market discovery" which they call a "find". These are to be considered an addition to the Birchbox and not in place of the monthly samples. So it's an extra. It's Chapstick. Don't get me wrong, I love chapstick. I can't live without it constantly in my handbag and my pocket at all times. I welcome another one... but this was disappointing because it's better than the rest of the box lol ahhhh.

This months Birchbox was just okay. I still feel like it's not worth it, even though I'm happy with a few items (one is the extra). Last months box was underwhelming and this one wasn't even as good as that.

In regards to continuing my subscription, I'm still on the fence for next month. They've been so bad recently that it has to get better, right? RIGHT?! Ugh.
