In an effort to weed through my NYX bag I grabbed up the 2 single eye shadows that were in there - Toffee Shimmer and Dune.

Toffee Shimmer looks nothing like toffee. It looks surprisingly similar to MAC Fresh Daisy, as it's a white gold shimmer. It looks NOTHING like the swatch on the website.

Dune is one of the most beautiful shadows I've EVER seen. (Of course I'm always going to say that about a greyed taupe!) It actually reminds me of MAC Hocus Pocus. The swatch on the website for Dune is pretty spot on.

Both shades are well pigmented, smooth (they literally feel like your running your fingers through softened butter), and blendable. I'm actually quite pleased with them!

These shades reminded me of their MAC cousins so much I ran off to do a comparison swatch pic:

NYX Toffee Shimmer has a bit more yellow to it in comparison to MAC Fresh Daisy. As for NYX Dune, it's obviously quite a bit lighter than MAC Hocus Pocus. Dune actually makes Hocus Pocus look almost BLACK. I actually like the consistency of the NYX shadows in comparison to the MAC shadows. The NYX shadows have a powdery feel, while the MAC feel a bit more harsh.

NYX Single Eye Shadows retail for $5.50 and you can pick them up at nyxcosmetics.com or Ulta.
