With every new collection from NARS, we can always expect some sort of amazing eye products. For Fall 2012, we were not let down. In addition to an amazing and beautiful trio eyeshadow, we also see a a neutral yet flashy Duo Eyeshadow named Vent Glacé.

What the NARS website has to say about Duo Eyeshadow:

Modern, unique, sometimes unexpected color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Duo Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigminted, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly. The effects can be subtle or smoldering -- the options are endless.

  • "Best Overall Eyeshadow” 2011 InStyle "Best Beauty Buys”
  • True color application
  • Can be applied dry or with a dampened brush for stronger intensity.
  • Multi-funtion use for shading, lining and highlighting the eyes.
  • Classic, neutral, and fashion-forward shade pairings.

Vent Glacé is described as Platinum / Silver Smoke, but reminds me more of an icy silvered white and a smoked out pale taupe.

This is a nicely pigmented and extremely useable duo of shades. The icy silver side is pretty frosty, and rather than using it like how I did below, you could also just pop that silver shade in the inner corners of your eyes and dust the platinum all through the lid and crease. The frost in the shade sort of eats away at the platinum shade, so if you'd like it to stand out more then that would be the best way to do it.

I love that this duo is completely idiot proof and easy to quickly use on a day when 5 minutes is all you have to spare.

As usual with NARS‘ powder products, this palette is housed in a sleek black case and includes a mirror.

This EOTD is so simple but striking, that a caveman could do it. Or a cavewoman. I'm not picky. To start off, I applied a thin layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion to both eyes. Using a MAC 239 brush I applied the icy silver side of the duo all over the lid. With the other side of the same 239 I applied the platinum side in the outer V and crease, blending the leftovers up to the brow. I lined all around the eyes with NARS Rue Saint-Honoré Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. The mascara is Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill.
