I can't tell you how long I've been wanting to try Illamasqua Nail Varnish. The price point isn't too high, and the reviews have pretty much all been astounding... but it's so hard to get on board with something you can't look at in person. During the recent 20% Sephora VIB sale, I finally went for it and ordered my very first Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Viridian.
What Sephora.com has to say about Illamasqua Nail Varnish:
What it is:
A nail varnish.
What it does:
Leave your mark with bold, rich, vibrant colors that stand out. The formula is hard wearing and chip resistant and contains individual finishes from matte to high gloss. Apply two coats for high intensity and use with Illamasqua Nail Base Coat and Illamasqua Nail Top Coat for the perfect finish. Make a statement and talk with your hands! Size: 0.5 oz
Viridian(peacock green/metallic finish) is likely one of the most gorgeous polishes I've ever put on my nails. It's a shimmery metallic green with flecks of blue and green woven in. It is a bit streaky, but because of the shimmer it isn't TOO noticeable. The above swatch is only two coats.
My only gripe with this polish is the cap. The square shape is really awkward to hold. Application is easy once you get the grip right, but it's not as pleasant of a hold as say, something from OPI.
All in all, I'm really happy with my first Illamasqua polish, and I absolutely plan to purchase a few more!
Illamasqua Nail Varnish retails for $14 and can be found at Sephora.
