Don't let yourself get distracted by the pretty gold compact. Estee Lauder may know how to package a shadow, but it doesn't hold a candle to how gloriously they can formulate one.

Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadow is a powder, sure, but as you apply it almost feels like it's damp. It doesn't smear or cake, but glides on evenly and with a tone that is at the head of the class.

For my first Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadow purchase I chose Cyber Green, but three other shades are also available - Cyber Teal (aka the next one on my list!), Cyber SIlver, and Cyber Copper.

What the Nordstrom website has to say about Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadow:

Color so metallic, it's futuristic. A first-ever techno tri-blend formula that's gel, powder and liquid in one. Create several looks from one shade. Apply it dry for a smooth, molten metal finish. Use it wet for a hyper-cyber effect to intensify the color and metallic shine. Unique formula allows you to build the fantasy to the highest chromatic shine. Sophisticated metallic finish looks beautiful on all skin tones.

Cyber Green is a blacked olive green metallic with small gold shimmer. The swatch above was done dry, with no primer... just LOOK at that pigment! You hardly need to touch your brush to the shadow and you get a phenomenal amount of color.

Obviously, pigment wise, it's amazing. The formula is smooth and blendable, while shimmers don't make it gritty or impossible to use. If you'd like the metallic to pop more wear this one wet.

I patted Cyber Green on with a firm shadow brush (MAC 239 for lid & 219 for crease) and experienced no fall out.

For this EOTD I started off using my Urban Decay Primer Potion for a base. I applied Cyber Green in the crease. Digging into my stash I retrieved an oldie but a goodie... the MAC Wonder Woman Valiant Quad and applied the shade Manila Paper all over the lid, and heavily at the inner corners of the eye. I took a bit more of Cyber Green and blended it into the outer V and blended out the crease a bit. I used Manila Paper again as a highlight. For a liner, I put Chanel Black Jade Le Crayon Kohl on top and a bit of Chanel Violet Smoke Le Crayon Yeux on the outer lower lash line. The mascara used was MAC New Hue Zoomlash.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Gelée Powder Eyeshadow retails for $24.00 and is available at your local Estee Lauder counter. I purchased mine at Nordstrom!
