If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen me post about hitting the mall yesterday. It was packed with people, but my trip was definitely not made in vain. All of the beauty counters at Nordstrom had the Spring 2014 collections out! I hauled some Guerlain and a bit of Dior. Unfortunately the Dior wasn't totally stocked, it was just partially received, but I was able to grab two pieces I'd been dying for. One of them being today's post of Dior Vernis Trianon Edition in 187 Perle.
The box design is quintessential Dior except instead of navy it's a dulled silver.
I wasn't wowed by Perle on the display. We've all seen the iridescent shimmery top coat before (which is what I initially thought it was). Luckily, I swatched it anyway. The shimmers are gorgeous, and because it's a frosted effect nail polish it dries matte, and dries matte beautifully. (all swatch photos taken outside in direct sunlight with no flash unless noted).
No top coat:
In the shade, no flash:
With an added top coat this shade still looks stunning:
For kicks, here is one coat of Perle over Dior Amazonia (don't ask me why I chose a khaki, it just looked dark and creamy plus I haven't used it in awhile. Turned out pretty freaking awesome, though!):
If you have a Nordstrom local to you keep your eyes peeled for this display. As of this post I haven't seen this collection online anywhere, but you may get lucky like I did in store!
