I'm new to the Rouge Double Intensité formula, but when I was at the store swatching the Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux de Chanel Collection I was completely taken with the beautiful color that is Rose Pearl.
What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about the Chanel Rouge Double Intensité Ultra Wear Lip Color:
Fabulous word of mouth. Glorious long-lasting colour paired with high-shine gloss.
Full-coverage colour lasts all day. Gloss top coat imparts brilliant shine, superb hydration.
- Base Colour Coat: Innovative fluid texture delivers long-lasting performance, comfortable application and perfect adherence to lips without transferring or feathering. Dries quickly, too.
- Top Gloss Coat: Clear gloss's soft, non-tacky texture provides high shine and comfort throughout the day.
For ultra-long wear, apply colour and let dry completely (about a minute). Follow with gloss for shine and comfort. Reapply gloss top coat as desired.
(L-R: swatched with gloss on top, swatched alone)
Rose Pearl (shimmering warm rose) creates the perfect pink multi-dimensional pucker. The gloss really brings out the shimmer giving the lips a plumped and luscious effect. For wear, the gloss disappears as soon as you eat or drink, but the main rose color is in it for the long haul. I actually had a hard time getting it all removed, which, for a lip color, is AWESOME. The color is similar to my lips, so even if patchiness was an issue (it's not) it wouldn't be as noticeable, especially when the gloss is reapplied. A great buy, for sure!
It's a beautiful shade on it's own:
But really shines when you add on the clear gloss top coat:
