You can't even imagine how long I've been waiting for another Chanel Quadra Eye Shadow to hit the counters. Well, you could probably do the math and figure it out... but it just seems like the recent collections just haven't carried a quad.
For Fall 2012Les Essentiels de Chanel we've been given Premier Regard. After such a long quad hiatus I wasn't disappointed in such a classic combination of color... but it did still leave me wanting for something a bit different.
What the Nordstrom website has to say about Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow:
One essential compact offers unlimited eye looks, with shade combinations ranging from matte to frost to satin for multiple looks, contrasting or complementary. Apply dry for subtle shadowing. Slightly moistened applicator gives a more intense shade. Organic polymer derivatives ensure smudge-proof long wear, particularly in high temperature or humidity.
Dermatologist-tested. Color featured in the Les Essentiels de Chanel, Fall 2012 collection is Premier Regard.
(swatched dry with no primer)
Premier Regard is a sweet quartet of a shy taupe, light pearly pink, a flesh toned peach, and a soft black.
For the most part, this is a pretty sheer quad, with the only real pigment coming from the black shade. Obviously, if you use these wet, you'll get more color. I think that the black is enough to amp up the eye but still keeps the look demure.
The black is the best color in this quad (and I'm saying that even over the taupe!) because it's SO soft and easy to blend. Hands down, the nicest black shadow I've ever worked with.
Even through the most humid of days, the quad held on strong over top of a layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion.
For this FOTD I used the following:
* Dior DiorShow Brow Styler
* Urban Decay Primer Potion
* Premier Regard Quad (pink all over the lid, black in the crease, taupe in the outer V and under the outer part of the lower eye, peach to highlight)
