New York, NY (July 2012) – A new national competition that urges youth to Sing for Self-Esteem launched July 12th.
The inaugural contest, created by Bellaboo Natural Skin Care and powered by ULTA Beauty, is centered around female empowerment through an online Sing For Self-Esteem singing competition –aiming to discover new musical talent, help give their career a jumpstart and spread the important pro self-esteem message.
Entry is simple. Budding artists simply submit a video recording of their interpretation of newly penned self-esteem anthem, “Bellaboo Girl.”
One winner will be given a step up in their music career; iTunes release of their professionally recorded version of the song, ULTA Beauty $500 gift card with a tour of the winner’s closest ULTA Beauty store to assist with their selections; and the opportunity to perform live at the grand finale event in her honor, hosted by High School Musical star and United Nations Youth champion, Monique Coleman!

The Bellaboo Girl song is written and produced by celebrated song writer/producer, James Hollands. Having a passion for helping youth internationally, he wrote the song after discovering and being inspired by Bellaboo and its mission around promoting positive teen esteem. Hollands sent the moving anthem as a gift to Bellaboo President, Snezna Kerekovic.
Empowering youth through positive self-esteem via music is why Snezna decided to share the original song with today’s youth as a means of encouraging one’s own positive self-image as well as helping spread the message on this critical issue.
Video entries will be posted on Bellaboo’s Facebook page and open to public voting to decide on the Top 10 submissions. The top 10 will then face a panel of music industry judges who will pick the Top 3. The Top 2 finalists will be selected after another round of public voting and flown to Los Angeles to take part in the grand finale event on September 15th where they will perform the song live to an audience of judges, invited celebrities and the public.
