When the Makeup Wars theme for the Must-Have Eye Shadow Palettes for Fall came up I immediately thought of the new Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow palettes that were just released. I must admit, when I first saw them I wasn't really intrigued because they reminded me of the baked quads that are released internationally with the collections. Normally, when I try them, I don't like them. But with this new quad comes a new formula and a new love of Chanel round eye shadow quads.
The packaging of the new quads is the exact same packaging you're used to on the originals. A chic, black plastic with the white Chanel insignia stamped on. The velvet pouch is also still there and, as usual, I still recommend you toss the included sponge-tipped applicators.
Tisse Venitien is a quad of a deep teal, frosty pink, black laced with green and a silver. While my color descriptions may not sound beautiful, the quad proves otherwise. The shades are super pigmented (they're swatched below dry with no primer) and blend very well. When worn on the eye (over a primer) they last all day without fading or creasing. This palette is great because you can make a basic smoky eye with the pink, silver and black, but still punch it up and do something fun by incorporating the teal.
For the eye look below I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion as my primer. The deep teal is all over the lid, the silver is in the crease and blended up, the black is in the outer V and blended into the crease and the pink shade is at the inner corners and up above the crease to highlight. The top liner is Chanel Brun Automatic Liquid Eyeliner, the bottom is MAC Powersurge Eye Kohl with a bit of the teal shade smudged underneath. The mascara is Tarte Best in Faux Lash Extending Fibers & Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara.
