Anxiety is a major self-esteem killer, and I think more of us suffer from it than anyone realizes. It can keep you from maintaining healthy friendships, it can affect your performance at school, it affects your health... it keeps you from being the best that you can be.
I absolutely have anxiety. Every.Single.Day. Does it sometimes hold me back? Absolutely. But you know what? That's okay. We're all going to have our good days and our bad days. I've learned it's important to make the effort to build yourself up and have more good days than bad. If you don't feel like getting dressed in the morning, go for a walk. It sounds SO ridiculous but after a morning walk I feel more accomplished and I definitely get more done. Even getting outside for 5 minutes and breathing fresh air helps to make you feel better and recharge. After awhile, more the good days just happen on their own and you have less of the bad creeping up.
I don't want my daughter to be someone who doesn't reach her full potential because of insecurities. As her mom, I know what she's capable of. My kids are a big reason that I'm able to push myself past my own insecurities so that they don't see any of the anxiety. You have to find what makes you better and grow from it. I work hard to build my kids up yet own their wrongs when they happen. No one is perfect, and it's important that everyone realizes that.
