These lipsticks are not for the faint of heart. But then, neither were the 90’s. For Holiday 2016 we’re being thrown back in beauty-time (to when some of you were probably very young or not even born yet… let me just cry a minute) and getting the chance to re-buy, reminisce and re-wear some seriously in-your-face shades. The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection brings back NINE of the old-school shades from 20 years past… yes, girl, 1996.
When I first saw the packaging the noise that I made was that of when I see a baby or a puppy… “awwwwwww”. Because it’s reminiscent of the packaging from 20 years ago – but modernized. I love the cardboard look, the font, the interior… it just makes my old ass really happy, okay?
In the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Capsule Collection are nine of the original cult favorites all now in the new, creamy Vice Lipstick formula – including the most requested of all of the vintage lipsticks – Bruise (shown above).
- Pallor // frosted lavender with gray shift, cream
- Roach // deep burgundy-brown, cream
- Bruise // sheer deep burgundy red with green shift, sheer
- UV-B // vibrant blue with purple shift, cream
- Asphyxia // soft lavender with blue micro-glitter, cream
- Smog // deep coppery bronze, cream
- Oil Slick // sheer black with silver micro-glitter, sheer
- Frostbite // frosted deep blue with multicolored micro-glitter, cream
- Plague // bright purple with pink undertone, cream
If you’re looking for shades that are on the sheer side but are also wild this is a great collection for you. Quite a few of the more intimidating shades (like Oil Slick, Pallor, UV-B) apply on the lighter side while others boast a major amount of pigment when worn (like Bruise and Smog). This isn’t your every day collection of lipsticks but if you see one you like I think it’s worth picking up. You can always mix and match with another color and make it wearable for you. The 90’s called and they miss you.
What is your favorite shade from the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection? Is there a shade you remember from 20 years ago that you’d love to see brought back again?
The Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection is available in-store and online at Sephora, ULTA Beauty, select Macy’s stores and urbandecay.com. Each shade retails for $17.00 and is limited edition.

Asphyxia & Smog are my picks and I think they would be nice for mixing them with other lipsticks

I’m really feeling Smog, Plague and Asphyxia. Do you know when these will launch?
Brooke says
Hi Aly! There wasn’t a launch date sent with any of the into (I checked a few other bloggers posts also and they mentioned having no info). I imagine it’ll be this month and probably on the UD site first and/or Sephora. I’ll definitely update when I know more!

These are unique shades though I’d look ridiculous in them. I think it’s great that they came out with these again though since there’s a new market for them.
