Do you guys get really excited when you see your name on a product? It doesn’t even have to be a product you made or you designed… but even if it’s something like a license plate for your
bike car (because we’re adults) it’s freak out time. Yes? For me… total yes. A lot of the shades in the soon-to-be released MAC x Brooke Candy Collection (available as of May 5 at Macy’s and maccosmetics.com) are “my colors”, which surprised me but also relieved me because I needed to own it all (packaging whaaaaat). I have some of it below so check it out and let me know what you’re obsessing over!
Bronzing Powder ($27.00 // Macy’s). One shade will be available in Golden which is described as a muted golden-tan beige with shimmer.
Yes, you’ve seen Golden before… you might possibly own Golden. It’s a permanent shade and is released with several collections, usually Summer. Golden is one of my favorite bronzers from MAC because it’s lightly warm toned and easy to wear. There’s a very slight shimmer but it’s not noticeable when worn.
Lipstick ($18.00 // Macy’s). Four Lipstick shades will be released and I have three to share with you in Mind Control, described as a bright cherry red, amplified; Doo-Wop which is described as a pink pop, matte and Whirl which is described as a dirty rose, matte. The fourth shade (which isn’t shown) is called Witching Hour and is described as a rich purple, matte.
The lipsticks all carry nice pigment, are comfortable to wear and apply well. Whirl is almost too brown for me but it does carry a bit more of a rosy hue on the lips. With a pink liner and gloss it’ll be perfection (but the gloss totally defeats the purpose of the lipstick being a matte). Mind Control is the shade of the juiciest cherry ever. It’s glossy but pigmented in one swipe. I love every damn thing about this. Doo-Wop shows up super blue-toned pink on my lips… like Barbie Summer-time 80’s style pink, which is going to look HOT for the Summer. Wear time is that of normal lipsticks on me which is 3-4 hours if I’m not eating or drinking a lot.
Vamplify ($21.00 // Macy’s). Two Vamplify shades will be released in Till Death Do Us Part, which is described as an intense dark purple and Pamela, which is described as a dirty rose (shown).
Pamela is definitely the more wearable of the two and is one of those shades that I love in the Fall/Winter. I am seeing it a lot in these Spring/Summer collections, though, and since IDGAF about beauty “rules” I’ll rock it if I wanna! I’m a fan of the Vamplify formula because they’re comfortable to wear and give a nice shine. Pamela has good pigment and looks a lot more rosy on the lips than it does in the swatch and I think the pink tone of the lips helps a lot with that. Wear time for me is that of a lipstick, 3-4 hours without eating and drinking a lot. It’s not super sticky and the gloss factor fades off a bit as you wear.
There are also several other parts to this collection including Studio Eye Gloss, Liquid Eye Liner, Nail Lacquers and more!
