Your feet may be mute but they do a lot of talking…. and by talking I mean communicating. Just because they’re closer to the ground doesn’t mean they go unnoticed and I think all people are aware of that on some level. What do your feet look like? How are they communicating to everyone that crosses your path? These types of questions always hit front and center in my mind once the weather starts to warm up and I have to pull my feet out of hiding and slip them into sandals.
How can you give your feet the confidence to communicate loud and proud? Here are a few things I like to do so that I’m 100% sure my feet are at their best and ready to conquer the world:
Rejuvenation. It’s warm now! No joke! Since we’re finally there with the weather we should all just have that pent up excitement about putting away the boots and bringing out the sandals. Embrace the excitement by finding and trying on old faves.
Inspiration. Trying on those old favorites should inspire you to want to get your feet into the best shape of their life (until next year, that is 😉 ). If not I like to flip through some fashion and beauty magazines to check out the latest styles and figure out a shopping game plan. Bonus, you can also check out the upcoming Summer trends in shoe-wear and nail polish colors.
Preparation. Prepping your feet for the new sandals and lacquer colors is essential. The Amopé™ Pedi Perfect Wet & Dry Rechargeable Foot File is what I’ve been using the last few months to slough off any dry, dead skin cells. It’s quick, easy and painless (though a little ticklish!) to quickly run the file over your feet in or out of the shower. I prefer to do this in the shower while I’m letting the conditioner sit in the ends of my hair for a bit. You can buy it here.
Distraction. Even with your feet looking colorful and feeling smooth your psyche just might not be there yet. When all else fails a blingy pair of sandals will make it happen. I like mine to have just a bit of a heel to give me some height, a slight arch to give my foot a bit of an angle but yet still be comfy. If you add in a hot coral or pink nail polish you’ll double-down on distraction and gain even more confidence!
All of these things enable me to feel confident in what I’m working with, which, for the first time in a long time, I can say don’t look half bad. 😉 Close-toed shoes BE GONE! Tell me in the comments what you like to do to be confident in your feet.

I love that flip flop weather is finally here but I need one of these. This was our first real Winter back in the cold and my feet paid the ultimate price. ugh.

My feet are in bad shape. I haven’t had a pedi in a long time because of budget. I am totally getting one of these.

I have been in full-on “get those feet ready for flip flops & sandals” mode the past week or so. My poor feet took a beating throughout winter, and they are in need of a little TLC. I am definitely going to be looking into snagging a Amope soon. Love how quick and easy to use you make it sound! 🙂

I’m not a fan of feet either =\ I have to wear flip flops and fun shoes, though. I went to a baseball game a few weeks ago and the girl next to me TOOK HER SHOES OFF and had her feet on the bar in front of us. I was dying.

I love your art of distraction idea! I’m one for bright pedi shades too. The Amope is a must have for sandal season!
