MAC collabs are my favorite, especially the designer collabs because they usually feature gorgeous packaging (remember Proenza Schouler?). The new MAC x Zac Posen Color Collection might not be as bold as some of the past, but it’s synonymous with words that come to mind when I think of the brand – chic and alluring.
Like his designs this collab with MAC is wearable, yet striking in the best ways. However, those that love a bold lip will not be disappointed 😉
Housed in flat, matte black packaging with gold print this limited edition collection features an Eyeshadow x 6 Palette, Three Lipsticks, One Powder Blush Duo, One Prep + Prime Finishing Powder, One Fluidline Pen, One Zoom Lash Mascara and Two Face Brushes.
Sheer Madness Lipstick ($18.00 // Nordstrom). Sheer Madness is described as a sheer nude, lustre. It’s very sheer with a slight pink tint and a lot of sparkle. The sparkle doesn’t transfer harshly to the lips, in fact the lipstick is so glossy it almost looks more like a slightly tinted saturation of moisture. It’s a pretty cool effect since it is also slightly iridescent. I love layering this over MAC Subculture Lip Pencil.
Zoom Lash Mascara ($18.00 // Nordstrom). Zoom Lash isn’t my first pick of MAC mascaras but it’s certainly a popular one within their product line. It’s fine for me for day but it doesn’t give me the thickening volume I like to have. When I do use Zoom Lash it’s usually for bottom lashes or as a first coat before I go in with something thickening. This on does do a good job at lengthening for me and the color will coat your lashes evenly. If you aren’t worried about getting it in the Zac Posen packaging you can buy it within the regular line for $17.00 here.
Haute Contour Powder Blush Duo ($29.00 // Nordstrom). The two shades in Haute Contour are my personal level of blush perfection. They lean warm and are a gorgeous combo described by MAC as matte neutral brown and pearlescent pink-coral. My gripe. You are going to have to dig at the product a bit to get the color to show. It’s like the top has a layer on it. Once you dig some out and get that top layer off the pigment is fabulous.
168 Large Angle Contour Brush ($36.00 // Nordstrom). This brush is one of my long-time favorites for contour. I have several and tend to always pick up one when it’s released in limited edition packaging. If you don’t care about the packaging you can snag a normal looking one within the permanent line for $35.00 here.
Did you pick anything up from MAC Zac Posen? I have my eye on that eyeshadow palette!
