There’s been a lot of talk this Fall about drama, and MAC is always good for bringing it on to every aspect of our faces. This season with Vamplify we get the saturated lips and with Haute Dogs we get the sculpted cheeks.
MAC Shadester Sculpting Powder ($22.00 // Macy’s). Shadester is described as a midtone leathery brown. This released with Haute Dogs (more of the collection reviewed here) and is a popular powder for natural sculpting. The finish is light and matte, which is perfect for those of us looking to be a bit more subtle.
MAC Vamplify Lip Gloss ($20.00 // Nordstrom). A whopping 17 shades of Vamplify Lip Gloss were released within this lip focused collection. The three shades shown here are How Chic is This (violet purple), Peer Pressure (intense red-burgundy) and She-Rebel (dark blue-purple).
I found the formula on these three to be intense, but definitely not “one-swipe opaque”. Of the three Peer Pressure performed the best. It applied nearly perfectly and was the most opaque and easy to work with. How Chic is This was semi-sheer and when I tried to layer it to make it more opaque some of the color just pushed around. It never really looked 100% full coverage on me. She-Rebel was not a favorite.. it applied very unevenly and would probably only look good with a dark lipstick color (such as black) underneath it to mask the patchiness.
I love the shine these give off and they’re very comfortable to wear. Without eating or drinking anything I got about 4 hours wear-time. For those of you that hate how sticky MAC Lipglass is you’ll probably really like the Vamplify Me Lip Gloss… no stick at all!
