Because what’s better than reformulated Urban Decay Eyeshadows? How about NEW reformulated Urban Decay Eyeshadow shades? EIGHT new shades, to be exact – six of which are duotones. I have four to share with you today in Tonic, Backfire, Fireball and Dive Bar ($18.00 // Sephora) with the promise that more are waiting patiently in my shopping bag to be purchased.
The new shadows are all in the same packaging. Still the gunmetal case, still able to be popped out of said case and into a customizable 4-pan palette.
Tonic is described as lilac with blue shift.
Backfire is described as burgundy with purple shift.
Fireball is described as peach with pink shift.
Dive Bar is described as a medium blue with pink-purple shift.
Formula wise I found that all of these are consistent with 99% of the Urban Decay Eyeshadows that I’ve used in the past. Pigmented and soft, easily blended and last all day over primer. I was impressed at how well the duotones showed through on the shadows when worn on the lid. Too often with shades that are touted as duotone all of the pretty is lost when they’re applied and blended out. Obviously not the case with UD, but then I wouldn’t expect otherwise 😉
The swatches below are done dry, on bare skin with no primer underneath.
In the look below: (EYES) UDPP as a base with Fireball at the inner corners and blended towards the center of the lid, Backfire applied all over the lid except the inner corner and blended into Fireball and Tonic smudged underneath the lower lash line. The liner is Urban Decay Hustle 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and the mascara is Urban Decay Subversion and Perversion. (BROWS) IT Cosmetics Your Brows But Better Brow Power Skinny Pencil and Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. (FACE) Make Up For Ever HD Foundation in 125 and Pro Finish Powder in 120, Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup SPF 15 in Light, Urban Decay Fetish Afterglow Blush. (LIPS) Urban Decay Kinky Revolution High-Color Lipgloss.
I swatched the rest of the new shades the other day and I’m head over heels for Riff and Sideline. They’re on the list for my next shopping trip! What new Urban Decay Products are you looking to pick up? Bet you’re gonna say Smoky 😉
