Every year the OPI SoftShades Collection is one of my faves. I’m a neutral gal and I like beauty products that give a quick and easy application. The neutral tones of the SoftShades collections are always perfect to quickly put on and know that I have a chic mani for any occasion.

All of the swatches are done below using Cult Nails Get it On Perfecting Base Coat and Megan Miller Rock Solid Top Coat. The photos are taken indoors under daylight bulbs with no flash. Of all of the photos I take I choose the ones that are the most clear and closest to the nail polish color in real life.

Chiffon My Mind is described as a sheer white. This is actually gorgeous to look at IRL and has a very fine blue, fuchsia and purple shimmer throughout. The formula was on the thick side and didn’t paint on very evenly. If you love it and must have it then I would recommend getting a fabulous white base coat and using one coat of this over-top. Three coats were required for full-ish opacity and I probably should have went for four… however I have a feeling it never would have dried.

Petal Soft is described as being pink and white flecked with white daisy decal. This glitter is so beautiful but omg is it a pain in the butt to get those flower glitters out. Just when you think you have it any and all fall off the brush as you pull it through the neck of the bottle. I dumped out the polish onto some paper to get the flowers for the swatch. One coat is shown over three coats of Chiffon My Mind.

Put it in Neutral is described as a pink-toned beige. This was one of my faves of the collection. It’s obviously incredibly sheer but it makes for a fast, easy mani for work or an event. I just feel like it really cleans up the nails when worn. Three coats are shown below.

Act Your Beige! is described as a light beige. This is an extremely sheer polish but I love how it gives the nails a very healthy, milky pink glow. I’m wearing three coats below and it almost seems as if it’s a french manicure rather than one nail polish. LOVE!

This Silver’s Mine! is described as a pearlescent silver. Pearl silver is a perfect description. This one was on the sheer side, as you can see below I did three coats and there is still visible nail line. I didn’t think that it was that streaky and I think it’d be pretty for stamping or layering.

Make Light of the Situation is described as an iridescent glitter. But it’s really so much more than that! It’s one of those pearly, flaky, holo glitter shades that will have you shifting your hand around in the sunlight all day long. It’s more of a top coat but I wore it below as 3 coats over a bare nail. IRL the nail is much less noticeable and the iridescence is much more noticeable.

Despite the troubles Petal Soft is one of my faves from this collection along with Make Light of the Situation, Put it in Neutral and Act Your Beige! For the most part the collection isn’t terribly unique, but for someone like me that is obsessed with sheers and neutrals, it’s a happy day!
