In 2013 Urban Decay launched a line of 22 Revolution Lipsticks (see Bang, Liar and Manic here) with a formula sent from the God’s – opaque, moisturizing and stuffed with Maxi-Lip™ which helps lips to look plumper and fuller. But maybe you like a bit more gloss? Maybe bold shades have you feeling a little timid? Wishes granted! This Spring Urban Decay has launched the Sheer Revolution Lipsticks ($22.00 // Sephora) – 10 shades giving you the best of both world’s… color, shine, creamy… and still with the Maxi-Lip™!
The outer packaging is purple and silver but inside the box is a vivid floral of greens and yellows. The tube is purple metal embossed with UD on the cap and Urban Decay along the side.
Of the 10 Sheer Revolution Lipsticks currently available I have 9 to share with you in Walk of Shame (sheer pale nude-pink), Liar (sheer pinky-brown nude), Rapture (sheer dusty rose), Obsessed (sheer baby pink), Ladyflower (sheer rose-pink), Shame (sheer berry), Streak (sheer coral-pink), Anarchy (sheer fuchsia) and Slowburn (sheer orange-red). I’m wearing Urban Decay Sheer Slowburn in this post.
Don’t let the word “sheer” throw you off at all. The opacity of these lipsticks is still great, though not as intensely so as the original formula. They coat evenly and easily leaving lips feeling moisturized and looking glossy.
I happened to have one of the regular Urban Decay Revolution Lipsticks here in Liar to compare to the Sheer Revolution Lipstick of the same name. There is a very slight color difference but it’s a little more noticeable on the lips since the regular Revolution Lipstick is much more creamy and opaque while the Sheer Revolution Lipstick has much more of a gloss finish (though still quite a bit of color).
Which of the new Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipsticks is your favorite?
