27 new shades have joined the MAC Technakohl Liner ($16.00 // Nordstrom) family and you’ll be happy to know that they’re a part of a the permanent collection! These eyeliners are said to be “vivid with an enduring formula of comfortable wear liners that are smudge-resistant for up to 8 hours“. Of the 27 shades I have 5 here to share with you today in Snowed In, Sterling Silver, Cast Iron, Sourpuss and Vent.
- Snowed In: light peach off-white
- Sterling Silver: silver
- Cast Iron: elephant grey
- Sourpuss: acid green
- Vent: metallic lime
I thought these liners were okay. Of the 5 I tried I felt like Sourpuss performed the best then Cast Iron but none of them were extremely pigmented when applied to the eye (you can even see in the swatch Vent was patchy and that was after a few tries). They lasted well enough on the top lid (over primer) but not so much on the waterline or below. The best part about the new Technakohl shades are the wide range of colors. It’d be a dream come true if they performed well. For the most part I don’t have the best luck with this type of eye liner from any brand, for some reason the twist-up self sharpening ones I have a hard time getting to show up decently on me.
Have you tried the new additions to the MAC Technakohl Liner family? What are your thoughts? I might pick up some more “me” shades to see how I like those ones. Plank and Broque are neutral shades I’d reach for on the daily and I’m interested to see how the formula may or may not vary from the louder colors. I want to say I tried Graphblack awhile ago and liked it so maybe I’ll grab that one too and see if I can’t revive some old feelings.
