This month Glossybox has collaborated with Harper’s Bazaar! When I first heard about that I knew it was going to be a good one. Spoiler – the box did not disappoint. Digital Director for Harper’s Bazaar Joyann King brings you some of her favorite finds for the September 2014 Glossybox.
Currently available in over 16 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their full sized products, high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, Tarte and more.
Let’s check out the goodies inside the September 2014 GLOSSYBOX!
From Benefit, They’re Real! Mascara. While this isn’t my absolute favorite mascara of all time I really do like the formula on it and it’s a contender for top 10, easy. Top 5 if we’re talking Premier Brand Mascaras. Definitely worth checking out!
From Essie, Nail Polish in Madison Ave-Hue. I love the girliness of this shade! That candy pink with subtle silver glitter… girl, YES. It’s pretty sheer so it took 3 coats for full opacity.
From Bvlgari, Eau Parfumee au the Blanc Conditioner. This smells phenomenal. Beyond phenomenal. While I’m normally like wtf, a conditioner with no shampoo I’m really excited for this. I haven’t used it yet because I’m concerned with combining it with a shampoo and mixing a scent but I can still tell you I am in love with the fragrance so much that the next time I’m at the store I’m spirtzing it on and if it doesn’t give me a headache I’m buying.
From Vichy, Liftactiv Night. This moisturizer is said to optimize the skin’s natural nighttime repair mechanisms with anti-aging plant sugar extract and continuous released Vitamin C, among other things. Because it’s not a full size and I haven’t tested for a decent amount of time I can’t speak to the long term effects, but I do love that this moisturizer keeps my skin feeling hydrated all day and into the next evening. The fragrance is minimal, light and clean.
From Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Lip Tar. Two shades went out, one in Authentic (metallic finish) and one in Black Dahlia (matte finish). Don’t let the terms metallic and matte get you worried, these lip products aren’t garish and wear well. Authentic is much more everyday while Black Dahlia is perfect for glamming it up and stains SO well onto the lips. I have been using that as a stain only with a clear gloss on top. Tip: utilize the little brushes they give you. You need to.
My favorite way to wear these two shades is layered. You have one, go buy the other. Best lip ever!
The September shipment was fantastic! The nail polish is gorgeous and of course the OCC Lip Tar (no matter what color you got) is wearable and fun. And, OMG at the Bvlgari! New love!
GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service. You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year. You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box. This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.
The price is a bit higher than that of other services you may have heard of or belong to. At $21 I would expect double the awesomeness of what I’d receive from, say, Birchbox.
GLOSSYBOX will always offer a MINIMUM of five products. After receiving your box, you can fill out more surveys in order to rate the products you received so they can better tailor your next package. So, basically, after a few months of the service, your packages should be PERFECT.
**TIP – Make sure you review the products received in your GLOSSYBOX to receive 20 GLOSSYDots per review. You can use these toward your own free box!**
From now until the end of October you will receive a FREE Glamglow Youthmud Mud-Mask ($19 value) with your subscription to Glossybox! Use code GBGLAM at checkout to redeem the gift. Offer not valid for limited edition boxes. Monthly, 3, 6 & 12 month subscriptions only. Valid Through: October 1st-31st
If that didn’t get you excited about subscribing how about a sneak peek into what will be in next months box? Vince Camuto Amore. SO EXCITED!
