The three quads from the MAC A Novel Romance Collection are all beautiful, and perfect for Fall. The A Novel Romance Quad, however, tops them all as my absolute favorite! In addition to sharing that quad with you today I also have one of the two blushes in Animal Instincts.
A Novel Romance Eye Shadow Quad ($40.00) contains four eye shadows in My Fantasy (pale neutral olive, veluxe pearl); Fall in Lust (midtone cool grey mauve, frost); Rising Passions (greenish charcoal w/gold pearl, velvet) and Dance in the Dark (deep blackened brown, matte). I loved every single one of the shades in this quad. Usually with velvet and matte finishes from MAC it’s never a total love for me (even sometimes with the frost finishes – can you tell I’m a Veluxe Pearl fan?) but I found them all to be very easy to use and blend, wearing well all day long until I washed my face at night.
In the eye look below I started with Urban Decay Primer Potion and placed Fall in Lust all over the lid. Rising Passions is in the crease as well as a bit below the outer third of the lower lash line, Dance in the Dark in the outer V and My Fantasy at the inner corners and to blend out the crease/highlight. MAC Earth Sign Fluidline Eye Pencil is the liner and Milani Total Lash Cover is the mascara.
Animal Instincts Powder Blush ($22.00) is described as a shimmering plum with a frost finish. When I first swatched this on my arm I wasn’t sure that I would like it on my face, but when used lightly I found that it’s the perfect cheek shade for Fall! I love that even though it’s a frost, and looks metallic in the swatch, it doesn’t look that way when blended out and worn. This blush is extremely pigmented, so take care when applying!
In the look below I’m wearing the A Novel Romance Quad (eye look break down is above), Animal Instincts Powder Blush, Hearts Aflame Lipstick and Talk Sexy Lipglass.
