Those who live and die for the Multiple are in for a treat. The new NARS Matte Multiple has hit the web early and I’m excited to share two of the seven new shades with you! Feast your eyes on Exumas and Cappadoce!

What Sephora says about NARS Matte Multiple:

What it is:
A modern matte multipurpose makeup stick for lips and cheeks that may be used wet or dry.

What it does:
This innovative formula—the next wave makeup artistry for lips and cheeks—delivers vibrant pops and sensual sunkissed modern matte hues for lips and cheeks. Used dry it delivers a burst of high-impact color; used wet, color melts into skin with an imperceptibly smooth, sheer finish.

What else you need to know:
“Matte Multiples give new possibilities and versatility. There’s no rules no right way or wrong way.” —François Nars

Exumas is described as a pink apricot but is most definitely more towards the apricot end of that characterization. Cappadoce is described as a golden bronze and that description is right on the money.

Formula wise they are creamy and just as easy to apply and blend as the original Multiple. They are long-lasting and luminous – perfect for day or night.

The Matte Multiples can be used wet or dry. Below are Exumas and Cappadoceswatched dry and blended out:

As you can see, in the pic where they’re swatched wet the finish is a little more sheer and dewy. When used dry and blended out you’ll get more of a vibrant pigment. Both of these ways are buildable to the amount of color that you desire.

In the pic below I’m wearing Cappadoce to lightly contour the cheeks and Exumas on the apples of the cheeks and blended up. I also have Exumas on my lips. I did use these shades dry and only applied them once lightly before blending. I generally don’t like a lot of color on my cheeks and I was feeling timid with this new formula. It’s likely next time I’ll go a bit deeper on application.
