When I posted the press release of the China Glaze Crinkled Chrome Collection (say that five times fast) I wasn’t sure what to think. The idea I was liking, but how would the quality and execution of crinkled polishes work out? We’re about to find out!
Of the six polishes within this collection I have three to share with you in this blog post – Don’t Be Foiled, Wrinking the Sheets and Iron Out the Details. The first pic is with flash, and the second is without to show the texture.
Don’t Be Foiled is a light minty teal chrome. This one is my absolute favorite, for no other reason other than I love the shade of it. One coat.
Wrinkling the Sheets is a silvered mint chrome. One coat.
Iron Out the Details is an icy silvered blue chrome. One coat.
On the new formula. Maybe I’m the minority, but I seriously dig this. It’s kind of awkward to paint on and looks a little bizarre at first, but in one coat it’ll cover and it dries quickly. I think it looks really cool… you’ll have to share what you think in the comments!
Note – if you’re not a fan of texture you’re not going to like this, but you should try it anyway because it’s so fun =P
China Glaze® Crinkled Chrome will be available in January 2014 at fine salons and beauty supply stores.

I’m still undecided about these. I really like the mint base of Wrinkling the Sheets, but I think the textured part looks a little awkward.

People who have no talent in nail art, including those who can’t paint their nails right will love this….. And I’m talking about myself, haha!

I bought a couple of these and found it looks better with two coats and a light top coat.

I love textured polishes, but I’m on the fence with this one. I really don’t like bar glitter, and these have so much of it. I would have preferred a chrome polish that wrinkled like a foil. I think this is one I’ll be seduced into picking up on clearance at Sally’s!

I love me some texture but this was a no way for me. It doesn’t look ‘on purpose’ to me.

How cool! I am happy that so many different textures are now coming out. Now if they would just make a Spotted dupe!

One coat is incredible. I don’t do texture but if I needed a mani for just a day or two I’d try this.

I really want to like this…but I’m not sure. I think it looks a bit messy, almost like bubbled polish? I think the reason I like textured so much is because it looks deliberate.

I like the idea of these products but not sure if I’d wear it myself. Great review though!

Brooke, I like the color of the first polish too! I didn’t realize these polishes were textured when I first heard about them. They are definitely different!

I can say I’ve never heard of crinkly polish. It kind of reminds me of crinkled up foil paper.

Ok, I thought I was going to HATE this. I hate the sandy finishes, I hate the fluff and basically every other textured everything out there BUT I am really liking this. Yours are the first I’ve seen and they look fun!

They are! It’s likely I wouldn’t do a whole mani with just these, but they’d be fun for accents or other art.
Phyrra says
I like the shiny, not sure about the texture.

So I’m always late to jump on nail trends, I usually hate a trend at first and then fall in love with it like 5 months later. It happened with matte polish, and liquid sands… this is soooo not up my alley but knowing me, I’ll probably like it in about 5 months lol!

Oh my, I loved the finish, but I wish all the colours didn’t look somewhat alike. May go in for Don’t Be Foiled. Brilliant swatches!
