Before we’re even going to get into this I’m going to admit to you that I bought this polish for the name. At the time I purchased it I couldn’t find swatches anywhere, but I figured something called Butterfly Wings had to be beautiful.
Rest easy, it’s beautiful! Laura Mercier Nail Polish ($18.00) was never even on my radar until Fall when I bought Bewitched. Now, I’m addicted, and Butterfly Wings just may be my favorite shade from any brand ever.
What Nordstrom says about Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer:
Laura Mercier Nail Lacquer creates beautifully manicured nails with long-lasting, chip-resistant, protective color and high shine. The ultrasmooth pigment enhances any nails and a fast-drying element expedites the drying process.
Butterfly Wings is a sheer, antique gold with a heavy copper pink shimmer. And it’s duochrome. And I.Love.It. It’s neutral and work safe, but fun and whimsical. If we’re keeping with a holiday theme here, then it’s naughty but also nice 😉
The formula is a bit thin, but it’s a sheer polish so who cares. The swatch above has three coats and there is still a bit of visible nail line. But it’s beautiful, so, again… who cares. When it dries you’ll see some brushstrokes, but they’re actually way more apparent in the pictures than in real life. I adore this shade on it’s own but it could definitely kick booty layered over other shades as well.
