I’ve already shared one of the Dior Holiday 2013 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes in Golden Snow with you today and professed my love of how well Dior does gold, so we might as well keep on going with the second one, Golden Flower!
What Nordstrom says about the Dior 5 Couleurs – Golden Winter Holiday Look Eyeshadow Palette:
Dior’s best-selling eye palette offers endless possibilities with two new limited-edition harmonies of shimmering gold, pink and bronze tones.
Beauty tip: Use the oval wand to apply the lightest shade to the upper part of the inner eyelid, then blend the darkest shade along the lash line. Shade the outer brow with one of the remaining colors. For more intensity, use a fourth color under the lashes.
This palette has the potential to be worn simply by just applying the peachy pink shade over the lid, the golden bronze in the crease and using the burgundy for an eyeliner… or you can do what I did and make it sultry by applying the burgundy all over the lid (see full breakdown below).
The burgundy shade was a tad dry, but easy to achieve full coverage on the lid. Many of you will be happy that there is almost no shimmer to it. Three of the other shades (peachy pink, white gold and golden bronze) have excellent pigment and are smooth, while the glittery gold is more of just a way to add some dimension and holiday shimmer to your look. I patted this shade on my lid very lightly so as not to have fall-out.
For the eye look below I began by priming my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion. I wanted this look to be a little more sultry, so I took the darkest shade, which was the burgundy, and applied it all over the lid. The golden bronze is in the crease and the peachy pink was used to blend out the crease. The white gold was used at the inner corners and to highlight. To finish up I took the glittery gold shade and patted it lightly over the lid. The eye liner is MAC Past Twilight Fluidline and the mascara is MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash.
