For Holiday 2013, NARS has collaborated with Guy Bourdin for an entire limited edition collection. Five new eyeshadows in Rage, Bad Behaviour, Cambodia, Mississippi Mermaid and Wishful Thinking (featured in this post) will be available in a brand new formula – Cinematic.
Wishful Thinking is described as a macaw blue. It’s such a wonderful and vibrantly electric shade! It’s pearled with just the right amount of shimmer and the formula is excellent. In the photo above, this shadow is swatched dry with no primer, and that is with just one finger swipe of product. I found this formula really easy to apply evenly and blend without a fight. It also wore well throughout the day over an eye primer without fading or creasing.
The packaging is the same as the usual NARS Eyeshadows, a black rubber square mirrored compact with white print.
For the EOTD I paired up Wishful Thinking (shown in the crease) with NARS Eyeshadow shades that I thought would be similar to the other shades that will be released within the same collection. From the And God Created the Woman Set I chose Kalahari for the lid and Alhambra for the inner corners, blending out the crease and to highlight. The eye liner is Marc Jacobs Beauty Ro(cocoa) Highliner – Gel Crayon on the top and Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Deep End on the bottom. A bit of Kalahari is also dusted below the outer third of the lower lashline. The mascara is Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant.

NARS Cinematic Eyeshadow retails for $24.00 and is available beginning October 15th at NARS boutiques and narscosmetics.com.
