The MAC x Archie’s Girls Collection has had makeup and comic book lovers alike buzzing away about the hype as long as six months ago. The collection has recently released and has two sides – Betty and Veronica – to suit just about every makeup lovers style.
Each side of the launch has a limited edition Eye Shadow x4. Betty has Caramel Sundae and Veronica has Spoiled Rich, which is the quad we’ll be focusing on for this post.
What the MAC website says about Spoiled Rich Eye Shadow x4:
An Eye Shadow Quad in four shades: Ron Ron Run, Spoiled Rich, Pin-Up Purple and Gravel. The highly pigmented powder formula applies evenly, blends and builds beautifully. Limited-edition Archie’s Girls packaging.
5.6 g / 0.19 US oz
Spoiled Rich features four eye shadow shades in different tones of purples as well as a pop of deep grey:
- Pin-Up Purple (midtone orchid, frost)
- Spoiled Rich (rich purple, frost)
- Ron Ron Run (deep navy, satin) <—- to me, this is more indigo in color
- Gravel (charcoal, matte)
The shades in this quad swatch dry and almost seem chalky, but apply with a decent amount of pigment. You absolutely need to use firm brushes and defined strokes. The frosts don’t go on as smoothly as I’m used to with this particular finish from MAC, but they are still easy to work with even for a novice.
I didn’t get any fall out on my cheeks, but I did have some on my hand when I was picking up Gravel to line my upper lash line, so you’ll want to make sure you’re aware of that particular shade while applying. This quad is a stunner for those who love purples and want to make a strong statement with their eyes.
For this EOTD I started off by using a thin layer of UDPP. I applied Pin-Up Purple all over the lid and Spoiled Rich in the crease. Ron Ron Run was used to deepen the outer V and Gravel was used to line the top lid. I also applied a bit of Ron Ron Run under the lower lash line. The bottom waterline is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Uzi and the mascara is MAC Plushlash.
MAC Spoiled Rich Eye Shadow x4 retails for $44.00 and is available at your local MAC counter (try Nordstrom, Macy’s, Bloomingdales) or store as well as online at maccosmetics.com.
