Clearly, you’ll need to be a woman of Strength to pull off ANY of the five lip shades in the MAC Strength Collection. In addition to the two lipsticks I have here to share with you today – Strong Woman and Absolute Power – there are also three more: Pink Pigeon, Party Parrot and Firm Form.
What the MAC website has to say about Lipstick:
Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

Strong Woman (bright violet, matte) is insanely purple. Regardless of this lipstick being a shade I’ll never be able to pull off on a normal day, I felt oddly empowered when wearing it. It applied nicely, and wore well. Removal was actually pretty easy, which I liked but also didn’t like because there was no staining. So when it’s gone, it’s gone.
Absolute Power (rich red, matte) is more of a fuchsia based red. Normally not a shade I like on myself, but it has just enough red to make it wearable for me. This one left a nice staining on the lips and I love to let it set for awhile, then blot most of it off and add a clear gloss on top. A fave look!
As both of these lipsticks are matte, they are both very pigmented. You’ll want to make sure to exfoliate and prep your lips before application.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
MAC Lipstick retails for $15.00. The Strength Collection only seems to be available online and at MAC stores, so hopefully you’ll be able to get your hands on the products you’re after!
