No one can come up with the perfect, universal eye quite like the one Le Métier de Beauté. released with Holiday 2012. The Bauhaus Kaleidoscope Eye Kit ($95.00) can create the flawless and smoldering eye look that everyone is after.
What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about the Le Métier de Beauté Bauhaus Kaleidoscope Eye Kit:
Regal and rich in jewel and earthy tones, Le Métier de Beauté unveils a ravishing, new limited edition Kaleidoscope Eye Kit: Bauhaus. Drawing inspiration from the Bauhaus movement that influenced the famed runways of Caroline Herrera and Cynthia Rowley alike, the latest eye kaleidoscope combines chic metallics with vibrant chocolate and scarlet hues for a bold, wearable lid look.
“Modernization is as feverishly popular as ever, and a little touch of Bauhaus never hurt anyone,” says Mikey Castillo, Director of Color for Le Métier de Beauté.
Shades include (from top to bottom):
- Axiom: sublime bronzed umber.
- Graphic: silver liquid metal.
- Crucible: rich pomegranate.
- Genre: deep gunmetal.
Layer shades from top to bottom using Le Métier de Beauté’s signature Couches de Couleur application technique to create a prism of color for the eye. Colors can be worn individually, but really work best when worn together, layered to bring out dimensional eyelids.
(To the far left the shades swatched individually, then layered)
Axiom
Axiom is a brassy bronze shimmer. All of the colored facets are what makes this shadow stand out above other bronze shades.
Graphic
Graphic is a shimmery silver. This is the quintessential metallic that is necessary to add in with any holiday look.
Crucible
Crucible is a velvety burgundy shimmer. Out of the four, this is the shade that screams holiday to me.
Genre
Genre is a deep and shimmery gunmetal grey. You can layer this one over top of the other three shades, but in line with LMdB’s technique I like to only layer it along the lash line (shown below).
Every shade was smooth and easily blendable. I love when they’re all layered you get a STUNNING taupe shade. You’ve never met shadows quite like the ones from Le Metier de Beaute. The swatches of them above are ONE finger swipe with very little pressure. They are so pigmented and easy to use. The products might be a little pricier, but with the quality you’ll be receiving it’s worth it to splurge on the shades you love and will use the most.
The Kaleidoscope Eye Kits from Le Metier de Beaute are to be used with the “Couches de Couleur” (the layering of color) technique – which is Le Metier de Beaute‘s signature technique. I used this technique shown below:
