A NEW FILM FOR NARS BY FABIEN BARON
NARS founder and creative director François Nars sets out to find a stable of rising stars in a new film inspired by Andy Warhol’s famous “Screen Tests” – the pop artist’s moving portraits of his famous Factory friends.

A long-time friend and creative partner for NARS, Baron created the beauty brand’s iconic logo and soft-touch packaging and continues to with François Nars and the NARS brand on all aspects of the brand image; packaging, print advertising, films and retail design.

Matt Baron is a director, DP and editor who works with advertising and editorial clients including Giorgio Armani, Rag & Bone, Madonna, and the New York Times.
MAKEUP ARTIST: Mark Carrasquillo
Makeup Artist Carrasquillo’s work has appeared in magazines including W, i-D, Vogue, Interview, and Harper’s Bazaar, on the runway for Vivienne Westwood, Peter Som, and Vera Wang, and in campaigns for Donna Karan, Hugo Boss, and Armani.

As in Warhol’s “Screen Tests” the film’s models all serve as creative muses for Mr. Nars and include photographers (Rothen, Young), designers (Wirth, Gallagher), and stylists (Harmon).
In the short stylized film, a series of models sit for a casting with François Nars. Each character is filmed in a sparse studio setting with a fixed frame 16mm camera – equipment favoured by Warhol himself.
