In continuing with the beauty products used at the Fashion Show this weekend (post to come!) I wanted to share with you what I used for my eye look.  My nails were Rock and Roll, so my makeup had to be too, but still “me” and not all crazy and raccoon eyed.

It was the perfect opportunity to break out the Fall 2012 Le Metier de Beauty Kaleidoscope Eye Kit in Nouvelle Vague ($95.00), which I FINALLY ordered because I’ve had my eye on it for awhile!

002007013 014What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about Le Metier de Beaute Kaleidoscope Eye Kit, Nouvelle Vague:

Le Métier de Beauté’s Kaleidoscope Eye Kit for Fall 2012 sets the stage with this season’s most note-worthy shades. Introducing, “Nouvelle Vague,” an interweave of livelihood, opulence and pop.

Shades include (from top to bottom):

  • Nouvelle- a seer mink negative

  • Gamine- a satin pink celluloid

  • Icon- silky matte Parisian mauve

  • Fin- a smoldering black carbon

015041(To the far left the shades are the layered, then swatched individually)

Nouvelle is a very frosty, icy pink.

024 Gamine is a frosty cool, medium pink.

027Icon is a matte deep rose, mauve.

037Fin is an extremely saturated matte black.

040Every shade was smooth and easily blendable.  You’ve never met matte shades like the ones from Le Metier de Beaute.  The swatches of them are ONE finger swipe with very little pressure.  They are so pigmented and easy to use.  The products might be a little pricier, but with the quality you’ll be receiving it’s worth it to splurge on the shades you love and will use the most.

The Kaleidoscope Eye Kits from Le Metier de Beaute are to be used with the “Couches de Couleur” (the layering of color) technique – which is Le Metier de Beaute‘s signature technique.  I used this technique shown below:

  1. Your eye look is so nicely done, but I would love to see it not that cropped, but in the context of the face. I think it will look much better seen from a little distance!

  4. I have been debating a LMDB kaleidoscope for awhile and I think you just set me over. While I am not thrilled with this palette specifically, I love how that technique came out on you. I think I would need someone at the counter to teach me though since I googled the technique and am not at all sure how to do it.

    • Once you get one of these Kaleidoscopes you’ll want them all! I use one brush for the whole technique. I take a MAC 239 (firm eye shadow brush) and pat on each shade, starting from the top. For the final, darkest shade I just take that same brush and get a little on the tip and thickly line the upper lash line with it, then using the same brush blend it upwards. It’s super quick and easy!
