For those that hate getting skin care samples, you’re really going to be disappointed in this month’s Birchbox. I know I’m let down. I realize it can’t be all awesome all of the time… but, wow. This is likely the worst box I’ve ever received.
As you open the box there is a card resting on top of the tissue paper that tells you about the theme of the November Box (which is Give) and on the back tells you what is inside.
Below the tissue paper lies a little Holiday 2012 Gift Guide, which is a cute touch.
Under that, we have the “goods”:
Yeah. So, first off we have three items from Masqueology. Two of which are what Birchbox calls “Lifestyle Extras” that technically aren’t part of the box, they are just a little something more. From Masqueology the products are Revitalizing Eye, Masque Cleanse and 7D Moisture Cream. It’s nice to get a set of stuff to try all together, but I can’t accurately review skin care by a packet, and I can’t tell if my skin will react to it.
Next, from MCMC Fragrances there is a sample vial of Phoenix. This actually smells rather nice and fresh. It’s a little strong for me and gave me a slight headache, but I think that some people would enjoy this.
From Kiehl’s there is a small bottle of their best-selling Creme de Corps (I actually just reviewed this here). I love this cream, it’s the best thing in this box, hands down.
Finally, from Stila, a small size of the All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer. It’s a nice sized sample that will last for awhile, and I know a lot of people are fans of this. I would probably keep it if I wasn’t happy with the one from CK.
I truly hate getting skin care in sample boxes. While I don’t mind one, this box was heavy on those types of items. How are you supposed to see if you like skin care by a packet? At least send a weeks worth to use. The November Birchbox was really an extreme disappointment for me this month and I don’t feel it was worth the $10.
At least the “Give” is in full effect… because someone I know is getting this entire Birchbox from me lol How did you feel about your Birchbox this month?
Wanna sign up for Birchbox? (Click for referral) If you like what you see go to the website and fill out the form. It’s just $10 a month (free shipping too!) and you get some cool stuff, tho I will warn you, you’re going to get stuff you hate as well. All in all, for the $10 it’s worth it. I love getting mail! haha
***Disclosure – I buy my own Birchbox, but the link posted in the above paragraph does give me referral points which I can use towards product on the site. Once you sign up for your own Birchbox, you’ll also get a referral code to send out to others and get some points of your own!
