Tarte has the most whimsical packaging I’ve seen yet for Holiday 2012.  It isn’t your every day, run-of-the-mill Holiday colors, which I love because you tend to get sick of the same old after awhile!

In their Eye Catchers 6-Piece SmolderEYES™ And Skinny SmolderEYES™ Collector’s Set you get 5 SmolderEYES and 1 Skinny SmolderEYES for a great value.

What the Sephora website has to say about Eye Catchers:

What it is:
A six-piece collection of full-size eyeliner favorites in universally flattering, must-have shades.

What it does:
These pure, powerful, and always-pretty smolderEYES™ liners glide on like butter and impart a precise line for a sleek look. Use the built-in smudger to go sultry and smoldering and enjoy the completely waterproof finish. Amazonian clay ensures longer wear, while nourishing lids, reducing surface oil, and improving overall texture. No matter how you wear these versatile shades, the rich pigments boast true, bold color.

This set contains:
- 5 x 0.056 oz SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Champagne, Gunmetal, Rainforest Black, Gold, Ash Violet
- 0.04 oz Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Onyx

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

(L-R: Skinny SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Onyx  & SmolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner in Gold, Gunmetal, Champagne, Rainforest Black, Ash Violet)

The SmolderEYES are great to use because they are soft, smooth, and glide on without skipping.  The shades are pigmented and don’t set immediately.  Smudging is simple to do either with your finger or by using the sponge at the other side of the pencil.  I usually apply, wait a second or two, and then smudge so it doesn’t get too smeared.  After I’m done I keep my eyes closed for a few seconds longer and then open.

These wear well on their own, but will crease a tiny bit after about 8 hours.  I have extremely oily eye lids so I tried again with Urban Decay Primer Potion and everything stayed perfect throughout the entire day.

For this EOTD I wore UDPP, Gunmetal SmolderEYES all over the lid and Champagne SmolderEYES at the inner corners of the Eye.  Because I haven’t busted it out in awhile I used Tarte’s True Blood Palette over top.  I brushed The Light on for a highlight and dusted the leftover on the brush over top of Gunmetal SmolderEYES.  Then I took Stake and applied it to the outer V area to deepen the shade a bit.  I took more of Gunmetal and put it on the outer third of the lower lash line and then smudged Onyx Skinny SmolderEYES along the top in a thick line.  The mascara is MAC Plushlash.

The pic below is after about 8 hours of wear:
