Makeup Wars – Favorite Fall Look featuring Calvin Klein CK One Color Cosmetics Swatches, Review & FOTD

Last month, the divas of Makeup Wars showed off their best red lip.  This time we’re going full out with a full face!  Makeup Ways – Favorite Fall Look.

Rather than go towards what is super hot this season (vampy lip, FTW!) I’m headed for something a little more whimsical and daytime ready.  The shades of the items I’ll be using in this post might scream Spring more than Fall, BUT, I’m going to show you how you work it for Fall, and introduce you to a new product line all at the same time!

CK One Color Cosmetics are relatively new as of a few months ago.  The line range is decent and I’m excited to have five of the products here to share with you and use in this new look for Makeup Wars!

The first items are for the face.

Above we have the CK One 3-in-1 Face Makeup with SPF 8 Sunscreen ($30).  While SPF 8 isn’t a lot of sun protection, it’s something to add on to your regular SPF, and I love a product that is conscious enough to include some SPF in it.  The shade I’m using is 300 Sand.

Next to the 3-in-1 is the CK One Skin Illuminator ($20).  This is a great product to use in the Summer months to mix with the foundation for brightening your all over face and decolletage area.  For this Fall look, I just took a small dab, pressed my two pointer fingers together and dabbed lightly on the apples of my cheeks, blending up on the top part of the cheek bone.

Next, for face, is the CK One Cream + Powder Bronzer Duo ($25).

The powder side isn’t super pigmented, but when it’s blended over the creamy bronzer side and the illuminator it really makes the face shine.  It comes with a round powder sponge, but I don’t really like that for application of a product like this.  I used my fingers to apply and blend the bronzer through the hollows of the cheeks and used a blush brush to put the blush side on the apples of the cheeks and blending up.

(L-R: Blush/Bronzer Duo, Illuminator, 3-in-1)

Next the eyes/lip:

The CK One Powder Eyeshadow Quad in 800 Angel ($28) is likely not a quad of colors you’d expect to see together, but somehow, it works.

The shades aren’t pigmented, but are sheer and blendable with each other.  Surprisingly, the best pigment came from the seafoam green shade at the top left.  I experienced quite a bit of fall out from the blue shade and the icy white shade, so be sure to apply your eye makeup before your face makeup.

The CK One Double Ended Eye Liner Crayon in 200 Candy + Poison ($17) had me puzzled.

One side is a gorgeous deep purple, obviously an eye liner… but the other side is a frosty bright coral shade… looking to me more like a Lip Liner.  So that is how I used it.  The purple on the eye, the coral on the lip.  Whether that is right or not, it worked.  You can also up the intensity of the eye shadow quad by using the pencil colors as a base.  The pencils are super creamy and glide on easily!

For this FOTD I used:

CK Color One Cosmetics are available exclusively at Ulta beginning in April 2012.

See what the other participants in this installment of Makeup Wars came up with!  What WILL we think of next?!
