MAC Tropical Mist Lipstick Swatches & Review – Carine Roitfeld

For this chic Fall mini-collection, MAC collaborated with Carine Roitfeld to create a collection centered around the smoky eye, of which she is known for.

What is a smoky eye look without a sheer, nude lip?  This collections features only one lipstick in Tropical Mist, which has a Lustre finish.

What the MAC website has to say about Carine Roitfeld Lipstick:

Light and neutral with a polished, glazed finish, this exclusive Lipstick is custom-made to perfectly complement Carine Roitfeld’s dramatically intense smoky eye looks. Limited edition.

3 g / 0.1 US oz

Tropical Mist is described as a sheer, translucent nude.  A very sheer, peachy beige.  It’s almost SO sheer that it looks like you’re wearing nothing more than a balm.  This shade is perfect for an uber smoky eye, but with the price point I think consumers will probably shy away because it doesn’t really do much more than a chapstick.

On a personal note, I am happy with this purchase, because this is the type of lip product I go for.  It has a slight tint and, as I’ve said before, I’m a sucker for packaging.  If I know I’m going to use a product up, the cost becomes a lot easier to swallow.

Because of this special packaging, this lipstick is a little more expensive than the ones in the regular tubes.

For more information, please see the Official Press Release.

MAC Carine Roitfeld Lipstick retails for $16.50 and is available for purchase at your local MAC counter (try Nordstrom) or store, as well as online at maccosmetics.com.
