I’m pretty sure nothing could disappoint me by way of Fall makeup and nail polish collections. This is just absolutely my favorite time of year in every way, shape, and form.
For Fall 2012 OPI brings us a stunning 12 shade collection inspired by Germany. Of course, it being Fall… as well as OPI… means it didn’t fail me. There actually isn’t a shade in here that I hated!
Take a gander and leave me a comment! Let me know which shade is your fave!
First, we’ll start off with the creamier shades (all taken in no sun & using flash):
(L-R: Don’t Pretzel My Buttons, My Very First Knockwurst, Berlin There Done That, Don’t Talk Bach to Me, Schnapps Out of It!, Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!)
Don’t Pretzel My Buttons
Don’t Pretzel My Buttons is a nude beige. It applied flawlessly. I find the shade to be beautiful on, but some may find that it will wash out their skin tone. Two coats were used in the photo.
My Very First Knockwurst
My Very First Knockwurst is a lilac tinged nude. This shade painted on smoothly, but not as much so as Pretzel. I love a tinted nude. It’s still work-safe and wearable, but with a hit of fun. Two coats were used in the photo.
Berlin There Done That
Berlin There Done That is a cement grey. The formula was nice on this one, but thin. I needed three coats to make it fully opaque.
Don’t Talk Bach to Me
Don’t Talk Bach to Me can only be described as when yellow ate green. A chartreuse, if you will. And I say that with love. There is also a little bit of shimmer in there, even though the base is still creamy. This is totally not a color I would gravitate towards, but I really like this one and consider it a must have! I used three coats for the pic.
Schnapps Out of It!
Schnapps Out of It! has the same type of finish as Don’t Talk Bach to Me – a creamy base with very slight shimmer. It’s a lovely shade of deep persimmon that you will have to pry out of my cold, dead hands. The formula is perfect, easy to apply, and was opaque in two coats.
Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!
Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine! is a gorgeous and deep blackened teal. This would look amazing with those flakie top coats or that gold Bond polish that is coming out soon. The formula was a little thin and runny, so I had to be more careful. Three coats were used in the photo, but I think once you get used to it two should be fine.
Next, the shimmers!
(L-R: Deutsche You Want Me Baby, Danke-Shiny Red, German-icure By OPI, Every Month is Oktoberfest, Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs, Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue)
Deutsche You Want Me Baby
Deutsche You Want Me Baby is a fiery shade that reminds me of the leaves changing. The formula is a little runny, but still coats well. Two coats were used in the photos.
Danke-Shiny Red
Danke-Shiny Red is a bright and cheerfully shimmery red. It actually looked pretty decent with one coat, but I went with two coats for the photo to be safe.
German-icure by OPI
German-icure by OPI is a deep burgundy shimmer. Shades like this are what I live for. The formula looked thin at first, but ended up looking posh and perfect after two coats.
Every Month is Oktoberfest
Every Month is Oktoberfest is a deep plum shimmer. It applied well and even in two coats. This one had me drooling almost as much as German-icure. Gorgeous for Fall!
Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs
Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs is a bright purple infused with fuchsia and blue shimmers. This one applied nice but thin. I needed three coats for it to be fully opaque.
Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue
Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue is an uber shiny vibrant blue shimmer. You may have one similar in your stash, but if not, it’s a good one to pick up. Only two coats necessary for full opacity.
Must haves from this collection are definitely German-icure by OPI, Schnapps Out of It!, Don’t Talk Bach to Me, Nein! Nein! Nein! Ok Fine!, and Deutsche You Want Me Baby.
If you don’t have anything similar, other shades to love are My Very First Knockwurst, Danke-Shiny Red, Every Month is Oktoberfest, and Unfort-Greta-bly Blue.

I bought “Every month is Octoberfest”, because it was the colour that immediately caught my eye. Such deep beautiful dark colour and I was amazed about the formula. I painted only one coat and it was fully opaque. This is definitely one of my favourite OPI collections. So many wonderful colours that I’d like to get.
