Nine Mineralize Eye Shadows (Earthly, Aurora, Invincible Light, Neo Nebula, Bright Moon, Magnetic Attraction, Sky, Water, and Universal Appeal) have released with the July 2012 Collection of Heavenly Creature by MAC.
The sheer and light application of Mineralize Eye Shadows tend to make them a certain hit or miss for most people. You either love ‘em, or you hate ‘em… there doesn’t seem to be any in between.
I only swatched this shadow mixed because the swirls were small and there is no way I could get it done separately with the shadows that I received. You may have swirls that are larger and that you can work with differently. These are always all a little different.
What the MAC website has to say about Mineralize Eye Shadows:
Baked minerals refined into a powder formula provide exceptionally sheer and lightweight application. Colour builds lightly, layer after layer, without heavy coverage.
I think that the shade of this one is pretty, but it’s not particularly easy to work with and felt rather dry. The swatches above are done dry with no primer underneath, but I do think this is one of those Mineralize Eye Shadows that NEEDS to be used wet.
For this EOTD I used MUFE Eye Prime as a base and put Aurora all over the lid. I placed Sky above the crease and blended. Earthly was used to highlight. The eye liner is Make Up For Ever 0L Mat Black with Sky smudged over it. The mascara is Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill.
