Every year hoards of MAC enthusiasts anxiously await the release of the latest batch of Mineralize Skinfinishes. Will they be coveted repromotes? Maybe a dupe of an elusive MSF that you just can’t quite get your hands on? Or something totally new?
With the release of the 2012 collection of Heavenly Creature, we’re introduced to FOUR new Mineralize Skinfinishes - Light Year, Star Wonder, Center of the Universe, and Earthshine.
What the MAC website has to say about Mineralize Skinfinish:
A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, or an overall ultra-deluxe polish to the face.
7 g / 0.24 US oz

(swatched heavily – Light Year, Star Wonder)
(blended out – Light Year, Star Wonder)
Light Year
Light Year is described as a peachy pink with gold shimmer. Swatched heavily it looks like it would be a nice cheek color, and on pale beauties it will be. However, on me, it’s simply a gorgeous golden highlighter. This one has more frost than Star Wonder, and I like to apply it above the cheekbone while wearing Star Wonder to make my face glow.
Star Wonder
Star Wonder is described as a plumy-pink with multi-dimensional pearl. It’s a beautiful golden raspberry, that when blended out really gives depth to the hollows of the cheeks, which is enhanced by wearing Light Year above the cheek bone. It’s not as frosty as you would think based off of swatches, but you will see a bit of a gold shimmer if you look closely in the light. (and yes I’m very sad it didn’t survive the mailing process)

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish retails for $29.00 and can be purchased at your local MAC counter (try Nordstrom) or store, as well as online at maccosmetics.com.

I also ordered both these shades and my Star Wonder was broken too… wonder what the deal is?
hmmm maybe it’s something with it’s particular formula. I don’t feel like repressing so I’m just trying to be careful lol
