If you buy one thing out of the whole Dior Fall 2012 Collection, it needs to be the Golden Jungle Eyeshadow Palette in Golden Browns. And you know how much I loved the other two eye palettes, so that is saying A WHOLE LOT.
Golden Browns consists of a coordinating trio of shades – a glimmering white gold, a deep chocolate, and quite possibly the prettiest bronze shade I’ve ever seen for an eye. For the lip, it’s a sweet peachy nude. On the sheer side, but if you apply with your finger rather than the lip brush you’ll get more color. The lightness of the lip gloss shade compliments the deep eye perfectly.
I did have a bit of fallout issues with the bronze shade, but since this is a sultry eye you could totally just use your finger and smudge it up for evening. Or do your face makeup first and just clean up. As usual with Dior shadows, the formula was buttery and amazing… blending was a breeze!
My only complaint is that my MAC 239 brush BARELY fit into the bronze shade. I had to be careful when picking up the product so it didn’t mix with the darker brown.
I am in lust with the eye look from this palette. I haven’t been this in love with an eye look in a longgggg time. I didn’t expect the shadows to be so nicely pigmented and perfect. I adore this palette!
For this EOTD I started off with a layer of UDPP. Using a firm shadow brush (MAC 239) I applied the middle bronze shade all over the lid and up through & above the crease. I applied the deep brown shade in the outer V and outer crease (MAC 219) and blended with more of the same color (MAC 226). I dusted a bit of the shimmery white gold at the inner corners of the eye and to highlight. The eyeliner on top is Lancome Bronze Desire Artliner and the bottom is NARS Rue Saint-Honoré Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner. Themascara is Giorgio Armani Eye to Kill.
