MAC Beth Mask Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner Swatches, Review, and EOTD – Beth Ditto

For June 2012, MAC has collaborated with artist Beth Ditto and released a collection just as passionate as she is.

MAC Beth Ditto is a decent sized collection with products ranging from our favorite Pro Longwear Lipcremes, to an awesome and versatile eye & cheek palette, to the new Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner.

The Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner is a new product for MAC, and they’ve released four of them as a launchpad to what will hopefully be more!  The four duos released with the Beth Ditto Collection are Little Miss Moffet, Drag, Strip, Beth or Glory, and today’s post of Beth Mask.

What the MAC website has to say about Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner:

Premiering in this collection – a dual-ended pairing of Eye Shadow and Greasepaint Liner for the perfect smoky eye. 0.85 g / 0.03 US oz

Beth Mask is described as reddish brown bronze liner/golden peach pink shadow.  I agree with the golden peach pink, but the other side is more of a bronzed plum.

Beth Mask was a lot easier to use than Drag, Strip.  The peachy side glided on nicely and wasn’t chalky and the bronzed plum side was really pigmented and smooth.  Even though the products looked okay on, I still added powder shadows on top to give the eye a more finished appearance.

I really like the idea of it being dual ended for a complementing pair of shades.  This eye lasted the day on me.  Check out the EOTD breakdown below to see how I applied Beth Mask!

For this EOTD I put down UDPP as a base and put a layer of the golden peachy pink all over the lid.  I then took out my MAC Festive Frost Face Kit (which was a Nordstrom Exclusive for Holiday 2011) for the shadows.   I applied Expensive Pink Eye Shadow over the peachy pink side.  Then, using the bronze plum side I colored in the crease and outer V, blending Below Zero Eye Shadow over top.  I used Once Upon a Time to highlight.  The mascara is MAC New Hue Zoom Lash.

MAC Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner retails for $22.00 and can be purchased at your local MAC counter or store, as well as at maccosmetics.comBeth Mask is listed as limited edition.

I really like this. The colors make me think of 2 of my favorite UD shadows, X & Last Call, which work really nicely together.
