Okay, I can’t breathe… Straight up, this is the BEST 5-Couleurs palette to hit the streets since Iridescent Leather (circa 2008).
That sentence alone probably amped this product up way too much, so hopefully you’re not sad if you don’t love it as much as I do. I go a little nutty for beautiful olives and golds that are sassy, yet classy.
For the Dior Fall 2012 Golden Jungle collection we’ll see a five star 5-Couleur in Golden Savannah. The shades bronzed, brown, khaki, olive, gold, shimmer… love.
The golden bronze is the most buttery out of the 5, but the taupe shade is my fave. I had no fall out issues, but you do want to be careful with that middle shade. It could go off on a tantrum and really disco ball up your face. I love that the middle shade looks like liquid hot white gold.
This creates such a demure smoky olive eye. I was afraid the colors would look muddy together but the end look was perfection. You’ll obviously be able to use the shades wet for more pigment, and you don’t have to use ALL of the shades together… but I like to prove that you can 😉 The looks can be endless with this one.
For this EOTD I started off with a layer of UDPP. Using a firm shadow brush (MAC 239) I applied the top left shade all over the lid. I applied the top right shade in the crease (MAC 219) and blended with more of the same color (MAC 226). In the outer V I used the bottom right shade and blended it towards the middle of the lid (again with the MAC 239). I dusted a bit of the middle shade at the inner corners of the eye and used Le Metier de Beaute Naked Eye Shadow to highlight. I put a bit of the bottom left shade under the outer side of the lower lash line. The eye liner is MAC Powersurge Eye Kohl and the mascara is Giorgio Armani Eye to Kill.
