Deborah Lippmann SWAGGA LIKE US Nail Polish Swatches, Review, and Comparisons – Mirrored Chrome Nail Lacquer Summer 2012

A trio of duochrome nail polishes have descended upon us this Summer via Deborah Lippmann!  Three shades make up this mini-collection in Private Dancer, Sugar Daddy, and today’s post of Swagga Like Us.

What the Nordstrom Website has to say about Deborah Lippmann Mirrored Chrome Nail Lacquer:

Deborah Lippmann is thrilled to introduce the Mirrored Chrome nail lacquer collection. An elegant new formula that creates a truly mirrored, chrome-like finish. Previously something you could only achieve through pricey salon treatments, now you can get that luxe, highly-reflective look at home with the Mirrored Chrome formula.

The secret is an innovative mica-pearl technology that imparts an ultra-shiny, mirrored effect. Sugar Daddy is an antique champagne lilac that actually flips or changes color when seen from different angles. It’s a cool, completely unique look that almost appears as though you dipped your fingertips in liquid metal.

Swagga Like Us is a majorly chrome gold with a bit of duochrome tossed in.  I’m not sure how I feel about this polish.  I think I expected more duochrome from it since I was so impressed with Sugar Daddy.  It applied nicely, though the formula was a bit thin so I went for a heavier coat of polish on layers two and three.  Some streakage shows (I used Butter London Nail Foundation and Dior Top Coat and it was rather apparent), but if you’re loving the color, that won’t matter much!  Three coats were used in the swatch photos.

This polish is really different from Chanel Peridot and OPI Just Spotted the Lizard, but I thought it would be good to compare them for reference.

DL Swagga – Pinkie & middle fingers

OPI JSTL – ring finger

Chanel - pointer finger

The OPI and Chanel are more of an antiqued gold and olive, where the Lippmann is mostly a brassy bronzed gold.

Deborah Lippmann Mirrored Chrome Nail Lacquers retail for $18.00.  I purchased mine online at Neiman Marcus, but they are also available at Nordstrom.
