Not all NARS Duo Eyeshadows can be worn together… sometimes the shades are perfectly matched, and other times your average makeup user wouldn’t even dream of applying both for the same look.
At first glance, Marie-Galante wouldn’t be a shades I’d throw together. After playing around with it a bit, however, it’s looking pretty darn good.
What the NARS website has to say about Duo Eyeshadow:
Modern, unique, sometimes unexpected color combinations of eyeshadow shades. Worn alone or together, all Duo Eyeshadow shades feature micro-fine powders that are highly pigminted, longwearing and crease resistant. Color glides on smoothly, evenly and blends effortlessly. The effects can be subtle or smoldering — the options are endless.

Marie-Galante(iridescent orchid/iridescent regal blue) is a beautiful duo, extremely sparkly and on the sheer side.
This duo absolutely needs to be worn wet. I’ve never said that about any shadow in my life, but it’s just not as pretty when worn on the eye dry. When using a firm brush, I had no issues with fall out, even when I applied the shades dry.
(with the blue applied wet)
It’s just such a huge difference! So, so beautiful! If you REALLY don’t want to wet your shadow, please consider using a pigmented base. A great one for this duo would be to use NARS Calabria Soft Touch Shadow Pencil (also from Summer 2012) sheered out on the lid, then apply Marie-Galante.
NARS Duo Eyeshadows retail for $34 each. Marie-Galante is released with the Summer 2012 Collection, now available on narscosmetics.com.
